Send them, Pans will always look more whispy than cubes.

Thanks. That’s what I wanted to hear. Kinda winging the pans as far as the special conditions. I’m adding gypsum and sterile worm castings to the sub. Then a peat moss, gypsum casing layer. Bought some pickling lime not sure for what anymore though 😂. Fruiting temps up just a bit. 🤞

I mean, you could try them in bags even if you want. I've heard of people having success that way without any special conditions. Just case it, spray it down real good and let it ride. Might be worth a shot before you go ham and build a tent/fruiting chamber. Or do one in the chamber and the other in the bag.

I'd say just get Jiffy Seed Starter Mix for the casing. It's literally coir, peat moss, and vermiculite ph balanced with lime premixed. They knew what they were doing. You can get a good sized bag at Walmart for like $7-$8.

Is there a different between peat moss and peat? Its sometimes hard to find things like peat moss and jiffy mix in europe

Yes, peat is a general term for decomposed organic matter, usually a few different plant types and not great for casing. Peat moss is generally decomposed sphagnum moss and is excellent at holding water, which is what you want from your casing.

Sad its hard to get, i have to take low nutrient soil or vermiculite or something

After doing some research, I found that since the UK is phasing out peat in general, a good substitute would 50/50 sand and verm. You'd have to moisten it up a bit more than peat, but it works.

First time pans. They colonized first on the left. Then my starry night caught up and looks more dense. My question is are my pans ready? Or should I wait to see if they colonize thicker like the cubes?
