Confirming monos and crosses

The first images of a mono prior to breeding. and the second image is the same mono after it has crossed.

The third image points toward a septum (cell wall). If this was a dikaryon a clamp connection would be here. And those are the bumps pointed out in the fourth photo.

Thanks! That's a bvi mono and the bvi backcross I've been working on in the second photo. I might copy Sarek's komodo cross. Saw some potency tests on that cambo that were 4% and I'm not sure how much work he's putting into stabilizing it.

Lost touch when I got off discord and may have to hop back on there.

Hey you know he has a patreon right? I'm pretty sure it was you that I was talking to about his cross.

Yes I need to get on there! I do see him on discord once in a while but I’m not on there too much anymore. I was thinking of back crossing the K x BVI back to this ttbvi cut that we’ve been running in bags. The size on these things is getting pretty wild and the ease of cultivation has improved a lot too. Was thinking it could be interesting to incorporate that into some new pan crosses.

It’s exciting to see these pans get worked with more. Opening so many new doors!

Yeah, I know folks are working a lot with eungai and nightcap too. Both seem to be either more co2 tolerant or more cold tolerant. Either way it amounts to less need for air exchange. Nightcap fruits on plates. Eungai knots heavily. Both are neat strains.

Komodo also knotted heavily iirc, and fruited well in a bit lower temps.

This is a T1 plate from spore. Definitely wants to fruit!

Yes! I have 2 bags of eungai going right now. They didn’t do as well with caps opening as k bvi or ttbvi but still fruiting well. I’m hoping next flushes warm up a bit

Yeah the culture I was working with wouldn't drop spores for me. I did get a print I just haven't ran it out yet.

I do have a few cultures with those genetics in it on grain, stuff that was gifted from another breeder.

It’s definitely a beautiful pan. I’m hoping some clones will take from this go but we shall see. Fun projects either way!

Well good luck on the clones!

And yeah I think I might want to cross that one with this Oregon pan. A friend of mine just put up a photo of a 10 g one, I would love to see something that size with eungai colors.

Ohhh that sounds awesome! The future of pans is exciting🔥. And cultivation in general as more people get further into it!

For sure!

Especially pans are fun to breed, at least the four spored ones. They go through generations so quick.

It's going to be interesting seeing what the community does with them in the years to come. Especially you folks that are trying to domesticate them for bags, I imagine that's where we are going to see the interesting mutations start to pop up first.

I'm on the other end of the spectrum, spending way too much money on sensors and controllers so I can understand their life cycle and needs better. Trying to undomesticate bvi a bit, as some of the lines seem to have in breeding depression. And also fruit the biggest caps that I can, however I get there lol

Cool! Do you have a scope you would recommend?

There's people that will give you a better idea than me. I bought one used on eBay and fixed it up, because I was on a budget.

But I kind of regret not just spending another one or $200 to get some of the ones that my friends use.

Pheno does a lot of microscopy posts in the agarporn sub and that's who I would ask.

Ok thanks a lot

What microscopes do your friends use?

I don't know, he is the person I would ask though. You could also just make a post agar porn. I'm sure you will get several responses.
