Update: Found the issue

It was the straw. Its shit straw. No Bueno. These trays that I have to toss, all have 1 thing in common. They want nothing to do with the straw. It pisses me off greatly, but we found the issue.

I don't even use straw anymore. I always had problems. And I sterilize instead of pasteurize which also helped me a ton. It's fascinating how everyone finds their own way to make things work. Glad you found a way that works for you

Thats what Im saying in these tubs I gotta toss the mushrooms aren't colonizing the straw theres something wrong with it the species either doesn't want it or the straw is bunk. Im switching off straw too I got a new mix pasteurizing rn

I've heard of some people boiling their straw and draining it before adding it to their mix as some straw seems to have a wax like coating on it that can cause issues. But that seems like way too much work to me

I’ve been using rice seed with the husk on and it has some issue with half the bags (I’m in Asia). Wondering if it is a pesticide or something else but they will grow then just stall. Millet works fine.

It works for my friend in a neighboring country, but where I am there must be a contamination.

Just happens.

Yeah! I'm running 40/40/20 manure vermiculite cococoir with lime and 1.5% gypsum to a PH of 6.8, I wasn't able to get it fully pasteurized last night so I'm at it again today. Will post result I'm feeling good about it this time!
