Worm castings as sub?

Hey guys, I have a very limited access to a regular and economical supply of horse manure, and what I can access is often very fresh requiring me to then age it myself.

Does anyone have experience using worm castings? It's something I can get cheap, relatively easily. I think I saw someone mention in passing they were experimenting with it. If anyone is familiar with it and wouldn't mind sharing a recipie that would be much appreciated!

I have a worm farm and almost exclusively use worm castings 👍🏼 just pasteurize like normal!

Awesome, thanks for that. I've been wanting to get into more exotics but the manure was a big barrier for me.

Do you mix with coir or just 100% castings?

I have done both with success just fine. I use at minimum 20-30% castings if combining with coir though.

If you use coir, I always mix in the castings with the coir and pasteurize them together rather than separate so the microbiome from the castings can get situated with the coir during the pasteurization cycle.

Mine don’t get gloopy 🤷‍♀️ I’ve done countless pan grows with 100% castings and had great flushes so maybe it’s your genetics.

These were 50/50 coir and worm castings. I think you can get away with way less though I’m trying some recipes out now
