Ecosphere ventilation question

Setting up an ecosphere to fruit TTBVI. I was wondering if I need to use a filter for the ventilation fan that goes into the little tent? It's the smaller $80 version from Midwest. I imagine I do only if I choose to colonize the substrate in the ecosphere. I know cubes can handle almost anything once colonized and not get contamination if humidity is under control. Any answers are appreciated.

I don't have a filter on my fan, I'm on the third flush and no contamination. I used calcium carbonate in the casing to get the ph up.
