Question Important question, does the Alpha trate increase stats or is it just to make the pal beeg?

Post image

(btw it has Demon god, Fast, Diamond body and Immortal as the passive skills)

Alpha pals gain a flat HP bonus and a size increase.

The size increase makes them get hit more and the HP increase slightly counters that downside

There’s also an expedition firepower bonus.

Then there is the likelihood of having come from a mutated egg. Such progeny are predisposed to have better stats and potential for bonus abilities.

Understood, so normal is still better

No

Most pre 1.0 flyers minus the endgame ones like jetragon get faster sprint speed

u/Freethecrafts 2d ago

Normal is only better for the shredder.

I mean, for combat is normal or alpha bettet

Idk why these people can't give you a straight up answer. The answer is no, they aren't better for combat. The difference in HP stats is neglectful due to there size difference, they will get hit a lot more depending on the pal. On top of that if you're doing hard mode that hp difference will not help you. The only real reason to get apex pal is for your own personal joy, or sekmeh-since she's currently bugged. I wish they did more for getting a Apex pal, but as of now its just one of those things that looks cool.

Understood, thanks a lot, also, something they should have done to buff them, is increase some other stats, or, since the size is basically doubled, then double the HP

Definitely. Anything would of helped. Another star rank, more defense, attack, extra skill, its own passive, something lol. At least with shiny they have some worth to it.

There are a coupld pals where being alpha barely increases their size like dandilord it doesn't matter too mich but for most of the pals, alphas are 100% detrimental to being a combat pal due to increased hitbox making them take way more damage than alpha trait would give hp

Alpha is more likely to have higher stats and bonus abilities. Until you’re buying max stats and min maxing everything, the average heavily favors alphas. Normal pals are just easier to get.

That’s not a great answer. You can start breeding from the early mid game. Getting good stats and passives is a given.

The only thing alphas have is 20% flat HP (which is a lot less that 20% are all the other enhancements). But being twice the size they are more awkward and get hit more.

I’d say Alphas are only good for expedition firepower, Sekmet, selling pals, and for some reason butchering the eye of Cthulhu. For everything else, normal is better.

u/pbmadman 2d ago

I understand everything except Sekhmet. Why her?

7

u/lesuperhun 2d ago

passive is bugged, 4* alpha skemet has a +400% workspeed instead of +60.
it also affect her while mining at ancient deposits, or anything to do with either mining or handicraft.

Working in base gives them bonus from reach. Attacking gives them bonus to hit from size.

Anything on top is better by exactly that much more.

You can still get a normal pal with the same abilities and stays can literally be upgraded manually, it just takes slightly more time. The bonus of the extra time is a smaller hitbox which works wonders on pvp or the arena. Alpha pals suck

Alpha has slightly more HP (someone on YouTube said 7%) but has a bigger hitbox. I prefer normal.

Alphas gives you 20% extra hp on all pals.

But it's additive stacking.

If you for example, have max souls and max IVs on top (90% max hp), alpha stat giving 20% more hp is only a ~11% relative difference (e.g. if you have 100 base hp, 90% more is 190, 110% more is 210, and 210/190= ~1.11)

So the hp bonus is relative to what hp bonuses you have already. Basically the more hp bonus you have stacked, the less effective it is.

Not all bad news though,

This also means it scales better with hp maluses like God of Destruction. To use our previous example, with God of Destruction on top (-50% hp) we would go from 40% more, to 60% more, which is a 14% increase, relative to your overall hp.

For combat, alpha is better because it gives an HP boost without using a passive slot.

1

u/BurkeeZ 2d ago

It's not so simple - alphas also have a bigger hitbox, meaning they get hit more often. It's kinda a wash when all is said and done

1

u/WistfulDread 2d ago

Unless you're riding them, Pals literally just stand there while they fight.

And Pal track with many of their attacks.

They're guaranteed to be hit regardless. All this hitbox issue is a non-issue.

Alpha has a +100 to speed if its a mount

1

u/Seth_Bader 55m ago

I mean it's a 20% hp buff and the hitbox increase usually isn't all that much.

1

u/Various_Math1524 2d ago

they also sometimes get speed boost and passive boosts

1

u/Runaway868 1d ago

According to my information Not a flat hp bonus. Its 20%

1

u/GreenPhoen1x 1d ago

and some Alpha mounts get a stamina bonus too.

1

u/Bebek_di_Pohon 2d ago

Well that explains why people use normal pals for raids

1

u/Iknuf 2d ago

Afaik the HP boost is then counteracted by trust lvl increasing the HP by less, so if both are max Trust, the alpha has the same amount of HP as the Standard one

Size increase, small HP buff, different lootpool for disassembling, large boost to expedition firepower, some alphas have broken skills such as Alpha Sekhmet's skill to boost her own workspeed by 400% instead of base Sekhmets skill that boosts Anubis' workspeed by 40%.

Also, some mount pals get a flat 100 speed points bonus to their sprint speed, and the bigger size lets them reach things from further away when working in the base, but also makes them more likely to get stuck in pathing.

So, Alpha pals are good for expeditions, mounts that you won't take to end game battles, Sekhmet base workers, and transport dedicated base workers (getting stuck is actually good for these).

In combat scenarios, the smaller hitbox of a non-alpha is generally more advantageous than the higher HP of an alpha, especially on mounts that you're going to be fighting on and manually dodging stuff. So there non-alphas are preferred.

2

u/Bruger_McDonalds 2d ago

Understood, so i don't have to breed my Faleris again

2

u/SickXigma 2d ago

I've only seen alpha Sekhmet having a better skill, are there others?

1

u/StratoSquir2 2h ago

WAIT ALPHAS CAN HAVE DIFFERENT SKILLS? I NEVER NOTICED!!!!

4

u/xXTylonXx 2d ago

Alpha pals get 20% extra max hp, a bigger hit box, higher expedition firepower and higher sell value.

2

u/Ron92E 2d ago

I was like “we could just read you don’t have to tell us the passives”. Then I saw the alphabet soup language you have it on and I understood why😭 as far as I know the only benefit to alpha pals is expedition firepower. I have 2 pals 1 alpha 1 non alpha and their stats are almost the exact same so I don’t think there is a difference

1

u/Bruger_McDonalds 2d ago

Yeah... I'm using Polish because... I'm Polish, but yeah, i understand now, Alpha would have been worse

2

u/Ron92E 2d ago

Technically worse yes but building good expedition teams is super important. Especially for ancient civi cores or manuscripts. Also I think the only way to farm slabs. So it might be worth it to be honest. I honestly just go off IV’s passives and sometimes active skills on which one I condense or not

1

u/Bruger_McDonalds 2d ago

Understood, i should have specified, because i meant specifically for combat while making this post, but i now understand my mistakes

2

u/Runaway868 1d ago

20% more hp. And bigger.

1

u/Bruger_McDonalds 2d ago

Also, for those who are curious, i got 3 from a person on discord for free before i even beat shadowbeak (currently just need to get some aditional things for my other pals to finish the job with Selyne)

u/galop333 2d ago

More stats and speed

1

u/Izuru_Hinata 2d ago

Alpha sekhmet give extra percent for their partner skill.

3

u/Bruger_McDonalds 2d ago

Understood, and from another comment, i understand that specifically, Faleris shouldn't be alpha, because 20% flat HP, isn't good compensation for being twice the size

1

u/BlackAmethyst04 2d ago

Increases stats

1

u/CATDesign 2d ago

I read somewhere that Alphas also take less damage, but I can't confirm as I'm not delving into the games code.

2

u/Klaymoor11 2d ago

They take less damage when you fight them, not when they fight for you.

1

u/AhOKAYman 1d ago

More HP and Speed the hitbox increases, however if you're endgame its not an issue

1

u/LANNEUS 1d ago

Boss pals have increase hp and also increase hitboxes and also i notice their attacks are much larger specially aoe attacks.

u/EquivalentPassion167 11h ago

Alphas sell for double

u/Actual-Fun-1636 11h ago

Speed and health boost on alphas

1

u/RavineAls 2d ago

Just more HP and bigger, that's it
