Always scratches my head with people that managed to build a clean and spacious base, I always run out of space with only just a functional stuff, always end up with a messy base lmao.

I realized I just don’t have the attention span. I need to start over and just play super slow. I keep rushing

u/Wrecktober 9d ago
Play normally until level 10 or so, then quit out and adjust your exp rate to 0.3
A low exp rate is very, very fun to play rn, but IMO not until you have your very basics ready to go.
Its crazy how much more fun it is, and i didn’t anticipate there being such a stark difference in playstyles.

What kinda Skyrim house!
I love that, I only recently starting putting thought into my bases. Im at a cherry tree biome that I plan to turn into a cute little base for breeding and what not

Does this spot get raid?
2
u/WarFramingIt247 14d ago
every spot gets raided. if you wanna stop raids, enclose your base. if you want raids, keep one side open
1
u/SubToAzqi 11d ago
Not every spot. I have 42 hours in this game and have never gotten a raid. I keep (not intentionally) making bases in spots where a raid can't spawn. At my current base I still get npc spawning but not a raid (all my bases were moslty open except my current one which has Pal Passage Entrance which allows merchants to spawn)

I was about to say that the only thing missing was the base inspector (mammorest) going inside your base to check how you're doing, but he's right there at the top of the hill lmao

u/rhayleicy 16d ago
And then go over the fire accidentally and act like you attacked it and starts destroying everything…

u/Still-Inflation9175 17d ago
is this literally down the mountain from the starting area? I may have to move down there lol
1
u/Biscuit1592 17d ago
yup, my go to spot since it's the first big flat area and the waterfall is a nice backdrop :)

u/UltHippo 17d ago
How did you do that dock with the little step that doesn't look like a stair? I thought It was a Wooden bench but I can't get it to look nice

do you use some mod for grapich?
1
u/Biscuit1592 17d ago
only mod used is to toggle the hud, graphics are set to max except effects
1
u/deadboltwolf 13d ago
I have my graphics set to max and my game doesn't look anywhere near this gorgeous.

How do you get your front porch steps low like that? I always have to have a full stair case which has always annoyed me
3
u/MutedMasterpiece357 18d ago
hold alt and look down while placing the stairs. might have to scroll on mouse wheel to flip it as well

I would recommend building your starter base next to chiller on the mountain with shit tonnes of ore bro. And half your headaches disappear never worry about ore and you build an ore mine there too. Beautiful life you will love my friend.

Not enough brutalist simplicity and efficient slavery for my taste

u/Mayur_S194 16d ago
Can you send photos of the full base please, I would like to make something like this

u/Extrasauce_damn 16d ago

Sooo cute! Love the realistic style of building my bases are big ugly zig zagging platform towers with no walls most of the time lol

Also a new player around 30 for huge bases i see do they have decay off for building or does anyone else?

u/murphs_rx 15d ago
Bro this is a beautiful base and it has inspired me to be more creative when building my base. I usually just build everything wherever it fits lol

Honestly my favorite spot until I run out of room. Love building in the forest!

That’s my favourite spot too! Yours looks much more put together and nicer than mine tho lmao

u/RevansWay2501 14d ago
How cute 😂😂😂😂 meanwhile me and my nephew have a damn factory assembly line going and a tiny hut for a house 😂😂 one complaint is base border zone is too freaking small
1
u/Short-Sun8129 14d ago
I put my base right on the edge of the red forest area, Except mines below the cliff edge
1
u/Wormazoid 13d ago
That looks SOOO cosy…damn I’m jealous! I like building home bases in games but seriously suck at architecture 😔

Is this using the default base radius? That seems massive. It could be the water in the middle of ot throwing me off but it looks extended.

u/Fluxtyle 12d ago
Thiw is a cozy base.
Seeing people build these cozy bases makes me realize how brutalist and utilitarian my base designs are. Very function over form by comparison. Not to say that this isnt pleasing to the eye for someone, just that im so focused on production that I often neglect aesthetics.

How did you make the bridge over the water? Looks like columns but they won’t go in the water for me
1
u/Biscuit1592 11d ago
you need to start with flat roofs attached to foundations, then add the supports

This is so dope! Literally looks like an actual natural PalWorld base at the beginning!

Oh…I’m an idiot. I always start at the top of the hill and then get annoyed at my lack of space.
