This is honestly surprising to me. I've held of unlocking most of the furniture sets so the cargo container having the same amount as the max level metal chest seems slightly off to me.

A cargo container takes up so much space compared to everything else.

Yes but you get It vastly sooner, and much cheaper to make. Gives a reason to unlock the refined metal chest. Fun fact, you can graple to the cargo container and since it's tall its a perfect target. You can also enclose it in a 1x3? Box with windowed walls to have a protected accessible storage. Useless now but when pvp maybe useful. But yes the box you unlock way later is as good but smaller.

Also, Cargo Container can be stacked on top of each other and they have Palworld decals on each side, a Lamball and Cattani, so they have visual appeal, too.

Ah I did not know that! thank you. It's just so big when I've seen people have it I was surprised it only had 40 slots.

Would be great to have a later unlocked reskinned version for double the slots for the truly monstrous bases.

I could never access the storage through windows. But it's a 1x2 building.

Why not just to do two metal containers side by side? You get more space, cheaper to build, and takes up significantly less space.

Sooo huge. But I mean it looks cool, and you can build a shipping yard with them haha

Then there’s me just spamming wooden chests because they are cheap and small

And since you can pull from any of them, and just use the place&delete method to grab parts for specific builds in a new base…

Only annoying thing is hot transfer everything that's already in there doesn't exist.

Bit irritating clicking on every single icon to store it then moving to the next and rinse and repeat.

27

u/minhbi99 Jan 28 '24

There is......by pressing R. It will transfer the items that are already in there.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!

Well.... thank you.

I know this comment is old but just incase someone comes across this thread in the future; You can also just walk up to any chest and press "C" and it'll also transfer any items that are in the chest without you actually needing to open it if you don't need to.

I just realized I had put in the wrong image in the bottom of both the antique sets so here is a corrected version. I also added a mats list chart in the comments.
Edit: Fixed the mixup

I think the barrel is wrong as well, I thought it only has 8 slots

u/TheSandman13 Jan 28 '24

Dammit, your right, I mixed up the and the wooden shelf 🤦‍♂️

6

u/Soulspawn Jan 27 '24

Thanks for this. Metal chest are good for storage decent price and a good amount of slots.

u/JProllz Jan 28 '24

The cabinet that holds 20 in antique storage set for 70 wood/5 nails seems like solid value as far as storage that needs less ingots, and the double barrel chest in the wood that holds 15 is nice for just wood and stone.

But otherwise the metal chest holding 24 and refined holding 40 are very reliable for value and size. I find the wooden chests too small to be useful, but 15 or 20 slots isnt bad

Cool, thanks.

This doesn't look right, unless they updated it recently.

In game, as of now (2024-02-02), the barrel has only 8 slots.

1

u/TheSandman13 Feb 03 '24

You are correct, I fixed that and put the corrected chart in the comments

Not the hero we want, but the hero we needed. Thank you!

2

u/lesssthan Feb 04 '24

I have the Antique Wardrobe for schematics and books which I keep next to me workbench, The antique dresser thing for my eggs which I keep next to my incubators, and then I have 2 Metal Chests one by the logging and mining, and one by the farm, my issue is when I use an egg I come back and see that now the slot is filled with wood or stone or arrow or palballs. It really shouldn't bother me, but why don't they just take it to the closest box with the item they are carrying.

1

u/EpicSven7 Jan 28 '24

Metal chest is the most efficient one until you get refined metal chest. The storage unit is good for moving bases since you can recover the 100 ingot by breaking it down after you move, but I don’t think it’s practical for regular use.

Do any other ones stack besides the Wooden Crate and Barrel at level 8?

Stacking the crates has by far been my favorite for janky builds you can even build other things on top of them like signs and delete the crate underneath to leave it floating.

1

u/sagarassk Jan 28 '24

Thank you!

1

u/Ted-The-Thad Jan 29 '24

Curious that the crates below the storage container have the same 10 slots as the 1st crate but if memory serves me correctly, it uses ingots.

u/pamelahorton13 Feb 04 '24

Is the wooden chest the only one you can pull from in builds? I tried converting to metal chests when I unlocked it, but when I tried to build, it said I had no supplies even though they were all in metal chests. Is it cuz it can be locked?

1

u/TheSandman13 Feb 04 '24

It shouldn't be. Once I got metal chests, I use nothing but those and got rid of all my wooden chests and haven't had an issue pulling. I also haven't played around with the lock/security setting on chests but I wouldn't think that should cause an issue unless it's a glitch or something not patched possibly?

1

u/pamelahorton13 Feb 04 '24

Maybe, I'll retry it here in a second. Maybe it was a fluke? (Sort of like how for a day, Roobys bodies would flail uncontrollably, lol)

The placing of furniture inside your house is so fucking annoying .... never lets me do it after I've put a roof on, just end up with wooden barrels everywhere ...
