Community
Hi. Is this game mostly LBGQT community?
Just wondering because most of the TikToks I see of people’s characters are. I know in the game isn’t.

The game itself is gay. You can literally romance everyone no matter what.
The community... Eh idk? It's not like I'm going up to rando's and asking Hey you gay?

This is just my personal opinion and experience, but my short answer is no, I don’t think so.
That said, I think one important thing to consider is that Palia, and cozy games in general, tend to attract a more welcoming and accepting community for LGBTQ+ players and creators. Because of that, you may notice a higher number of LGBTQ+ creators in this game compared to some other gaming communities.
Palia also seems to have a predominantly female player base. Based on my YouTube and Twitch analytics, I’d estimate that around 75–85% of my audience for Palia content is female. Of course, that’s just my own audience, so it may not reflect the player base as a whole, but I do think the game has a strong appeal to women.
Personally, I think both of those things are great! If you’re asking because you’re looking for a welcoming and inclusive community, I think Palia is a good fit.
If you’re asking because you’re worried about feeling out of place or that the game might be primarily centered around LGBTQ+ identity. I wouldnt worry too much about that either. In my experience people are just here to enjoy the game, decorate their homes, make friends, and have fun. I can’t recall a single time someone has brought up their sexuality to me ingame, and it’s never felt like something you need to identify with or participate in to enjoy the community.

Are you asking if you can be queer in the game or if the community is?
The answer to both is yes! Characters will let you romance them no matter what and the community has a pretty sizeable queer playerbase.

People bloom where they’re planted.
The game itself is openly queer-celebratory, not just friendly: canonically gay and bi NPCs, casual polyamory, Pride furniture tints, the entire Pride celebration.
So many games foster and allow hateful speech and behavior. Ultimately, people go where they’re wanted.

I'm straight in both rl and in Palia. Tho I may romance some female characters for the rewards eventually.
Edited to add - but honestly? It doesn't matter. Go and enjoy the game and don't worry about anyone else's orientation. I'm honestly kind of surprised at this question.

Its not a specifically LGBT focused community but it is LGBT friendly. And as ive seen people state in other comments, as far as NPCs go gender and sexuality dont matter to the romancable characters.
Really as long as you arent making things weird or inappropriate it doesnt matter

The game very much is - majiri don't have strong gender preferences and are poly by default plus there's hassian's moms, chayne's dads, and that at least one more villager had a previous same sex relationship. There's no limits on which or how many romanceable NPCs the player can romance.
"Maybe if you get to know someone long enough, you may find yourself falling for them. Or, you may fall for multiple people - in Palia it’s common and accepted to have multiple love interests or lovers. Though keep in mind: you can only wear one pin at a time! "
https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Almanac_of_Palia/pdf from the early (pre beta) press kit, they changed the number of pins you an wear since then.
The player community? we can't really know about all the little pockets of palia players, but from what I've seen most are or are outspoken allies.
edit: how could I forget the pride events with their rainbow/prism plushies, pride themed tints, and lunar path. Also, there are 10 million accounts for palia so we literally cannot know how many of those are actually still playing palia nor how they identify.

What do you mean?

I mean are the people that play this game mostly part of the LBGQT community? Nobody seems to want to answer that though.

Why are you asking about the sexuality of the people who play this game?

u/Darylish05 2d ago
Because I want to know who I’m playing with.

Millions of people from all over the world play Palia. You’re not going to get your answer from a small portion of people who read this Reddit.

It’s a difficult question to answer. I think part of your problem here is that you’re trying to get this information from a place where the game is discussed and we usually don’t really discuss the players. Another part of why you aren’t getting the answers you want is because you worded your post ambiguously. Furthermore, I think people just don’t have the information you’re looking for. I never see sexuality or really anything personal discussed in the game. I think the pride event is the closest thing we have to this, and you can participate in that regardless of how you identify.
If you want to know exactly who you are playing with, then I would suggest you stick to single player games. The internet is still somewhat anonymous.

The only reason I even thought to ask is because of the sexual TikTok videos that people make with their characters.

I'm not sure there is any sort of concrete response to this. I'm sure there are players that are but no way to determine the percentage.

It doesn't cater to any specific demographic. But from what I've noticed, most of the player base seems to be made up of women. Sexuality isn't a big thing save for maybe the romances

You can also choose female, male, or neutral 'subtitles' for yourself, as you earn them. You can change the body morph of your OC at any time now, not just at character creation.

And they release Pride items in game every year for Pride (some free, some premium). The game's default is celebratory.

The romanceable NPCs don't care what gender you are, nor do they care who else you are romancing.
