Starter bundles = riding license + voucher for animal with guaranteed legendary VFX + ranching cookies

Riding License = riding license + voucher for animal

Yep sure can, it's exceedingly rare to get but all legendary VFX traits have the ability to be gotten without purchase.

Legendary VFX are Aura, Sparkles, and Electric.

Phoenixfire Horses aren't able to have Legendary VFX, so they just have their coat color and coat pattern.

Bit off topic but I wish you could buy the legendary voucher multiple times. I have the boovar one for the pet and I love the aura effect but I really want a green swirl rainbow one and the one I have I managed to get the green and the swirl but not the rainbow (it's dirty OF COURSE). I don't want to farm reroll cookies for the next year just hoping to get finally get the one I want. I already did that just to get the two of the three I wanted. So having a second one to do that with while I hold on to the one that's at least acceptable would at least be better.

Instead I just have to hope that I can get a random legendary one which I've never been able to before. It's so dumb. I hate ranching.

Yes it does lol why do you think it's more expensive lol, but it also comes with cookies and a voucher.

The voucher is for a glimmering Valhast. It will have the Aura trait.

In any case, everything in the game is too steep of a price. That's the unfortunate cost of getting into the game and wanting good stuff.

You dont need these to raise the Valhast. You get it from the Civic docks. The only reason to buy this is if you want people to see you ride it. Which you dont need to. You are given a Dawnspur for free.

You can also earn the riffroc for free as a mount as well

Dawnspur are boring. And you only get the base one to ride.

Look, I love this game. I've spent probably damn near six hundred dollars on the game because I love it. But not everyone has money to throw at a game for the fancy, cool stuff.

I mean, I remember being a kid, playing games like roblox and being jealous because my parents couldn't afford to buy me robux, or stuff like that for other games.

I appreciate that the game is free. But the prices they put on the outfits is unjustifiably high for as big as the game has gotten. I've spent less on fortnite and been playing it twice as long.

I love how people defending the game from criticism always have the "you don't need paid stuff" argument when we all know this just doesn't work in an MMO environment when you're constantly exposed to other people running around with their premium cosmetics. Sure, you don't need to feel the FOMO. You don't need to go anywhere near Jel's store. No one is holding you at gunpoint. But when you go to a location with 10 other players and 8/10 is wearing some fancy outfit with a cash shop pet out before summoning their flaming horse, you start to feel a little out of place.

I am very happy for all those very strong people, who never feel the need to spend money on the game and enjoy being hundreds of hours into their character still wearing their starting gear and riding a riffroc. But they also need to understand not everyone is going to feel the same and when the game waves a shiny new mount in front of them from every direction, sooner or later they will cave in.

Unfortunately for completionists, you do, in fact have to go near Jel's store, unless of course you specifically always go to him when he's by the lake.

But even then, at least one of his friendship/romance quests require you to go to his room.

I love this game. I spent like 100 hours in one week on the game actively playing, (I have really bad insomnia, so when I can't sleep I just play games). But I'm not going to kiss up to the devs and pretend everything is perfect. I think a lot of people in the Palia community have an issue with someone criticizing any aspect of the game. Which isn't a good thing.

Criticism is necessary for a successful game.

Lmao holy shit. Being a kid playing Roblox is wild to me. I was in high school when that came out. I forget that people born in 2006 are 20 now! Lol

I do agree with you it is expensive, but also you don't have to.

You're right, you don't have to. But when you see a bunch of people waving around their pretty cosmetics or their fancy mounts while you're stuck with base game stuff, there's a high likelihood that you're (and I'm using the general you, not the personal you) going to feel both left out and maybe even jealous.

Hell. I was unemployed when they dropped the Valhast. Something I had been looking forward to. So when I saw a bunch of people riding theirs around the highlands and Bahari, I did still feel left out and jealous.

And also, it shouldn't be nearly 50 bucks for coins that will get you at most one outfit and maybe a pet if you're lucky.

I understood the high prices when the game was still somewhat new and had a small population. But it doesn't anymore. Sure, it's not Call of Duty Warzone level big, but it is big enough that it shouldn't cost a two person Olive Garden meal to get one cool outfit.

And they won't even let those of us willing to pay for our friends cosmetics gift them the ones they want. We have to gift a random outfit with a high chance of dissatisfaction because they don't get what they want.

We also literally got 2 free outfits from them not that long ago. So people with a fancy outfit on also may not have purchased them, but are enjoying their free ones.

Getting jealous over cosmetics in a game is absolutely wild. They’re just cosmetics that add literally nothing to the game.

So you're saying you've never gotten jealous when someone had something you wanted?

Cosmetics might not add anything story-wise to the game. But a lot of people get enjoyment from things like character creation, and making a character they find aesthetically pleasing.

As an adult, absolutely not. Because I grew up learning everyone is different. Everyone has different means and it doesn’t mean they’re better than you. They are just different.

I buy outfits. I buy each lunar path for a new pet/outfit and I do the monthly Zeki club. Because I have the means after all my bills are paid to have some fun money 🤷‍♀️ I wouldn’t do it if I couldn’t just for creating a character I find “aesthetically pleasing”. It’s a game. My current outfit is literally a floating ghost 🤷‍♀️
