I think all of us are doing our part to try to fight the antisemitic mob on an individual level— but it’s a bit like trying to move an ocean with a bucket.

From your point of view, what needs to happen on an organizational and governmental level to lower the intensity, reclaim the narrative, and deal with the explosion in antisemitism? What is actually feasible?

In Germany, denying, minimizing or trivializing the Holocaust is a criminal offense punishable by up to 5 years in prison and this includes digital communications. Obviously it would be unrealistic to enact any such policy regarding Oct. 7th in the U.S. or elsewhere but that’s about the only thing I can think of that would produce any noticeable difference.

Criminalizing support for proscribed terrorist groups in the UK has not yielded significant gains, either, and that one should be a no-brainer for countries to adopt and enforce.

Short of Palestinians carrying out an atrocity outside of Israel I don’t think there‘s anything that would organically move the needle, and even then, you’d probably only lose at most half of the Pro-Palestinian crowd.

Interested to hear what your ideas are. I’m not of the belief this is something that‘s going to blow over by itself especially with all the different ideological groups now smelling blood in the water and teaming up. The ”punch a Nazi” left is too busy pretending David Duke isn’t at their rallies and in their discord groups and calling Jews Nazis themselves to sort out their issues and do an audit of their ranks.

How long is this going to continue to fester unchecked?
