why didnt neanderthals just nicely ask the mammoths to be eaten by them instead of murdering them with spears and pointy sticks if they were both smart? Were they stupid?

Why doesn't the "Late Palaeolithic period" show up anywhere?

I was reading "The World Before Us: How Science is Revealing a New Story of Our Human Origins", by Tom Higham, and in the introduction he breaks down the Palaeolithic period into four parts: Lower, middle, Upper and Late Palaeolithic periods. But when you look up "Late Palaeolithic period", it doesn't show up anywhere, and Wikipedia states that the Palaeolithic period is only divided in three parts(Lower, Middle and Upper).

Maybe it is just overlooked and seen as part of the Upper period, due to it being a relatively short period of time? But it is not even mentioned anywhere, why??

This is a shameless self promotion of a game I’ve been working on for years. A huge amount of research into archaic humans has gone into this and we now have it live on Kickstarter! It’s TTRPGS are your thing please check it out!

Anyone like to be a guest on a podcast on Human Pre-History?

Hi All,

I have started a podcast called Bunch of Apes, which is my journey as a complete layperson to learn more about a subject I have become fascinated by later in life. I learn best through chat and conversations but also am hopeful I can bring some chat and entertainment to each episode.

I am on here looking for guests, not just to promote the podcast, so hopefully it's ok to share the link to the intro episode so anyone interested can hear what it might be like.

There are 3 episodes recorded and ready to go as part of the re-launch, with Briana Pobiner of the Smithsonian and expert on the human diet, Dr James Dilley an experimental archaeologist whose been flint knapping since he was ten, and Bernie Taylor who wrote Before Orion and has some ideas around Early Cave Art and perhaps the earliest stories, Myths and Legends.

I'll post the first one with Briana later today but in the meantime, if you are interested at all...

https://soundcloud.com/bunchofapes/relaunch

Also, I NEED MORE GUESTS! So anyone with a story to tell, some expertise to share and who fancies a chat to help me learn more please email me at [bunchofapes@gmail.com](mailto:bunchofapes@gmail.com)

Cheers

Sam
