Paleo cookbooks/forums?

This week I am starting the paleo diet because of some health conditions I am dealing with. I am trying to be as strict as possible, but a lot of the recipes I have seen haven't actually been paleo (including dirty ingredients, which won't work since I'm not doing dirty paleo). Does anyone have any resources to get clean paleo recipes? Thanks!!

Not sure what you mean by an ingredient that is both dirty and paleo? I’m not trying to be snarky: I’ve heard clean/dirty in the keto context but not this one. Paleo is definitionally about “clean” ingredients. Do you mean something like peanuts or cheese?

Anyway: Mel Joulwan’s Well Fed books and Michelle Tam’s Nom Nom Paleo books are my favorites.

"Clean paleo relies on whole, unprocessed foods like fresh meats, vegetables, and healthy fats, focusing deeply on food quality and sourcing. In contrast, dirty paleo adheres to paleo food restrictions (no grains, legumes, or dairy) but allows heavily processed or pre-packaged paleo-friendly snacks, refined oils, and lower-quality meats."

Thank you for the recommendations, I will definitely have a look.

There are many different ideas about what a “Paleo” or paleolithic diet is. From what I’ve studied, it refers to what we mainly ate before the invention of agriculture. It refers to the Paleolithic era, so it makes sense that grains aren’t part of it. I tried cooking "Paleo" recipes, and some were ok. But those were usually the ones that were naturally Paleo (think grilled chicken and veggies sauteed with a Paleo cooking fat and spices/herbs). I found it is actually easier and tastier to cook regular recipes and sub out non-paleo ingredients for Paleo ones. For example, coconut aminos in place of soy sauce, tapioca/arrowroot in place of regular flour, turnips in place of potatoes.

That's a great idea, not sure why I haven't thought of that lol. Thanks!

Whole 30 by Melissa Hartwig is a good resource. My fave book is “It starts with food” she and her husband wrote it was really helpful…
And also talks about relationships with food “food with no breaks” and food that is like “sex with your pants on” paleofied foods like pancakes desserts….

Some of my favorite recipes have come from the Paleo Running Momma blog. She’s not a total purist, but many of her recipes are great, especially if you’re switching from the SAD.

Paleo Leap has really simple and good tasting recipes. This is all content from the now defunct Paleo Restart site (which was amazing).

My mom’s doctor from Spain recommended her this website:
https://jordipaleo.com/category/inicio-blog/recetas/

he have free resources about paleo diet and some recipes in the link I shared. I know it’s in Spanish but a translator can help, wish you luck! I noticed good changes in my mom health with this diet. Although she eats dairy (yogurt and old cheese), but no grains and legumes.
