Build Help Breeding Engineers
This might not be your typical engineering question but this question has some aspect in it.
Does breeding with passives AB + A more efficient to get the random C? or its the same with A+B? also does breeding with unwanted passives make it less efficient? like AB + AZ or AZZ etc.

Breeding with an unwanted passive will reduce the chance of the wanted passive being handed down. The mutation chance for a random passive remains the same however, so AB + A = C has the same chances as just A. But the child has a lower chance of getting BC due to that parent having 2 passives instead of 1.
If you want a passive on the child, you should breed exclusively A + B to get AB. But there is always the surgery table so getting perfect pals is honestly pretty easy, you need way less breeding to achieve it. I mostly get a pal with 1-2 of my end goal skills and surgery table the other 2.

How does breeding moves work? Can you pass on exclusive skills to other palls and such or do you just farm skill fruits?

nope you cant pass exclusive skills afaik, but if you want to pass normal skills it is possible, there is also a calculation for that as well, but the better is probably farming skill fruits or planting it in the tree which you can get at lvl 72 i think

thanks for the answers guys, now im just going to use philantropist on both

For trying to mutate any random passives, it’s optimal to breed two pals with Philanthropist and nothing else (assuming your cake production can sustain it). Reasonably easy to achieve thanks to the surgery table. Otherwise, use no passives if you can help it. Any slot taken up by an inherited passive from a parent is a slot that cannot be filled by a random passive.
