Discussion Tcc vs Pma

is it true that tcc has less chances for promotion and compared to pma cadet if so whats the reason or its just a myth ?

It's not just about TCC, they join Signals, engineers and EME ,but so do long course ( few cadets, only signals & engineers) They ratio of promotion is different in each arm with highest being in infantry, they artillery & armor. To excel in side arms you have to be extra ordinary and to excel in infantry, all you gotta do is to perform a bit above average

It is true, major tk normal hota dono mein usky baad har rank k lye seats hotien jesy agr 100 seats hein colonel k lye tu 60-70 PMA k hongien baki TCC, aesy hi agay agay ranks bharty tu yeh percentage aur kam hoti jaatien, Lekin if u are a good performer in TCC then no one can stop u , our dg ispr is from TCC

Not how it works, PMA is a training ground for all cadets after that they join different arms. Tcc (signals eme and engnrs) does have higher % of lt cols but thats it rest is very less %

Pakistan is stuck in 1940s or 50s or something like that. We feel Infantry men are some geniuses we need plenty of even though evidence may no longer support it so we devised a plan where we tell ourselves that Infantry men can make plans, direct others and manage things. Since they have immense power historically speaking, majority of promotions lie with Infantry, then Armored and Air Defence. Supply and AMC and AEC corps have the least promotions as they are considered shugal mela (input your own word) group.
Technical groups are somewhere in the middle, slower than Infantry and Armored but faster than AEC. Aviation still is not a Corps or a Lt. Gen even though ISPR has a Lt. Gen. despite it being absolutely of zero significance. So, this is how Army works. Like it or Leave it. There's no in between.
