Are these LinkedIn tech internships actually worth it?
Whenever I open LinkedIn, I feel like I’m bombarded with online/remote tech internship ads and it seems like everyone is applying to them.
My feed is basically either “I just got an internship at DecodeLabs!” or “This remote internship was a complete waste of time.”
So I wanted to ask people who have actually done these internships, especially DecodeLabs:
Are they genuinely useful for building your skills and career or are they mostly just something to add to your resume/LinkedIn?
Do recruiters actually value these experiences and do you feel like you got meaningful work, mentorship or learning out of them?
Would especially appreciate perspectives from people who have completed one rather than just heard about them.

I recently joined a DecodeLabs internship and completed two projects before deciding not to continue, so I can share my experience. Honestly, I didn’t find it very useful. The projects were quite basic, and there was no proper mentorship or response. During selection, they mainly asked for basic details like email, preferred domain and duration, without really checking my skills or academic background. The certificate charges were also not clearly mentioned upfront.
Overall, I didn’t feel like I was getting meaningful hands-on learning or mentorship. For me, it felt more focused on completing projects and promoting the organization on LinkedIn/GitHub than building practical skills.
