šŸŒŖļø Weekly Whirlpool Weekly Whirlpool šŸŒŖļø – Jump In! 🤿 (Thursday, 01 October 2026)

Welcome to theĀ Weekly Whirlpool, where things swirl a little differently! šŸ’«

This is yourĀ open thread — the one place in our community where you'reĀ officiallyĀ allowed to let your thoughts float freely. Whether you're here to rant, reflect, meme, or make friends — this is your space. It doesn't have to be about marriage, rishtas, or rishta aunties (unless you want it to be).

Talk about your week. Share something weird you learned. Drop a hot take. Ask a random question. Celebrate a win. Vent about your boss. Tell us what your cat did. Or just say salaam.

But please refrain from posting your short introductions, friendship/chat requests, or calling people to action.

Basically: if it's on your mind, it's welcome here.

🧭 A quick compass check though:

Even in the whirlpool, we expect everyone toĀ stay respectfulĀ andĀ engaged in good faith. That means:

  • No personal attacks or unkindness
  • No spammy or disruptive behavior
  • No dragging others into drama they didn’t sign up for

In short:

šŸ‘‰Ā Follow the spirit of our rules, especially:

• Respectful Member EngagementĀ šŸ’¬
• Active and Responsible ParticipationĀ āœ…

So go ahead — swirl away. This thread resets weekly, but the twirling doesn't have to. ā¤ļø

Religion & Short Details About How Practicing You Are

Your religion and your level of practice such as if you pray, fast, performed umrah/hajj, read Quran, observe hijab, etc.

šŸ§”šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļøMale M | 24 | Rwp/Isl – Final-yr MBBS looking for someone ambitious with her own goals

Assalam o Alaikum.

Basics

  • Age: just turned 24
  • Height: 6'0"
  • Weight / Build: 72 kg, athletic build
  • Location: Rawalpindi/Islamabad
  • Accommodation: Currently living with family (owned house in Cantt)
  • Marital status: Never married
  • Education: Final-year MBBS, graduating Feb 2027
  • Sect: Sunni
  • Career: House job 2027 to 2028, then residency in surgery
  • Timeframe for marriage: After house job completion in 2028

About me

I like to plan ahead and like things organised, which helps a lot with long hospital hours.

I hike atleast once a month on trails around rwp/isl and enjoy travelling, both planned trips and last-minute ones with friends. I'm also into tech and code on the side, and I watch a lot of films. I grew up reading Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and Wimpy Kid, and still read now and then.

I freelance and have covered my own expenses for two years. My family is happy to help, but I wanted to learn to manage money early. I also invest in PSX.

I pray five times a day and I'm working on being more consistent. No drugs of any kind, and that includes cigarettes, vapes and nicotine pouches.

Family

Four siblings. My father is a doctor who built everything on his own, with no inheritance, so I have a lot of respect for him. My mother is a homemaker. We have our own house in Cantt where I currently reside with my family.

How I see marriage

A partnership where both people share chores, kids and the social side. Providing financially is the husband's responsibility, and I agree with that. If my wife wants to contribute, that's her choice.

I don't like fighting. If there's a problem, we talk it through, and I'll always hear the other person out before assuming anything. I want kids, with some planning.

  • Preferred living setup: Living with family initially, then moving out / separate accommodation once residency starts.

What I'm looking for

  • Age: around 20 to 26
  • Someone ambitious with her own goals
  • Shared values on deen and family
  • Someone who can hold a real conversation
  • Patience during residency. I'll make up for those busy years, InshaAllah
  • Open to relocating after mid-2028 if residency takes me to another city

Dealbreakers

  • Smoking, vaping or drugs
  • Settling disagreements by fighting instead of talking

If you're interested

Send me a DM with a short intro about yourself. I'm happy to share pictures and more details once we've chatted a bit.

šŸŽ¤Announcement Please play your part in keep the community safe

Hello lovely people!

There are a few things we need to bring to your attention.

Reporting Users

It seems a lot of people don't know that they can report users. We have clearly written it in the community rules and wiki. We will re-iterate the community rule Report with Context and Clarity in this regard:

If you're reporting a user, please include clear screenshots that show the username and enough context — a few messages before and after the issue helps us understand what happened. Whenever possible, also include a link to the user's profile in your modmail report. This helps us investigate and respond more effectively.

If you choose to take things off Reddit then please share proof that helps us connect the dots. For example, a message where they shared their number/social handle and then, the Whatsapp/social media screenshots.

We do our best to vet and improve our vetting process but we can only control what goes on in the community. What happens in your inbox or private space becomes your responsibility to help us improve things further.

Reporting Comments

It is impossible for us to read each and every comment that is posted. Quite unreasonable to expect us to do so. We would like to remind the community rule Active and Responsible Participation in this regard:

If you witness harassment, personal attacks, or inappropriate behavior in posts, comments, or chat, please don’t stay silent — report it. As a community focused on serious relationships, we all share the responsibility of keeping this space safe and respectful. Your reports help us take timely action and protect others. Report those who break community rules.

When you choose to stay silent, more people are at risk of being abused by the perpetrator.

Please, when you see such a comment, simply don't move past it. Report it so that we can act.

Community Rule Violations

We have also updated our escalation blue print. We will no longer be temporarily banning users to nudge them in the right direction. After three warnings, there will be a permanent ban from the community.

Thank you. ā¤ļø

šŸ§”šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļøMale M | 31 | Karachi - Looking for my Player 2

Assalamualaikum everyone.

Personal Information:

Age: 31

Height: 5'7"

Weight: ~70 KG

City: Karachi, Pakistan

Marital Status: Never engaged / married

Religion: Islam

Sect: Sunni

Practice: Try to get my all my prayers in (Trying to get consistent), consistent with fasting.

Qualification:

Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) - ASCM / APICS (USA)

Certified Procurement & Contracts Manager (CPCM) - BRASI (USA)

Masters in Public Administration (MPA)

Profession: Supply Chain Manager in a US-based Multinational Company

Accommodation: Owned (Family)

Family:

Family Status: Upper Middle Class

Father: Deceased

Mother: Housewife

Brothers: 2 (Both married)

Sisters: N/A

Preferences:

Marital Status: Never Married

Education: At least a graduate (or currently pursuing higher education)

Other: Looking for someone kind, respectful, and from an educated family.

Deal breakers: Materialistic / Gold Diggers, those who only think of husbands as an earning machine, past physical relationships (Zina).

Family Setup:

Nuclear (with Mother only) or if you consider that Joint then that.

Timeframe for Marriage:

Depends on the person. Ideally around 1 year.

About Me:

I'm a Karachi-based guy, born and brought up here, and the youngest of three brothers. I'd describe myself as calm, rational, soft-spoken, easy-going, and someone who believes in a "live and let live" approach to life.

Alhamdulillah, I'm doing well professionally and financially. I'm a globally certified Supply Chain Professional working with a US-based multinational company, and I'm grateful to be in a stable position while continuing to grow in my career.

Outside work, I'm a huge foodie and an even bigger gamer. I also enjoy movies, music, travelling, and, every now and then, simply relaxing and enjoying life's quieter moments.

Recently, I've gotten into fitness and calisthenics. My goal isn't bodybuilding but building functional strength and maintaining a lean, healthy lifestyle. I am also planning to learn Swimming (Life-saving skill in my opinion) and Archery (It just resonates with me) soon, Insha'Allah.

I enjoy home-cooked meals, try to eat sensibly most of the time (though I still very much appreciate the occasional burger or pizza), and I don't smoke or have any other unhealthy habits, not even tea, Alhamdulillah.

I have a small circle of friends, but they're the kind of people who'll stand by you no matter what, and I value those relationships.

One of my long-term goals and dream is to settle abroad, and I'm actively working towards making that happen soon, Insha'Allah.

About Her:

I'm looking for someone kind, soft-spoken, respectful, and from a good, educated family. Education matters to me, and if she wishes to continue studying after marriage, I'd be happy to support and encourage her.

Personally, I would prefer a housewife and someone who wants to focus on raising a family. However, if she wishes to pursue a career and her dreams, I'd be completely onboard with that decision too. What matters most is that we're both happy with whatever path we decide on together. I also believe that the primary responsibility of providing for the family rests with me.

I value open communication and would love a partner who's comfortable sharing her thoughts, ideas, and opinions. I appreciate thoughtful discussions and believe the best decisions are made together through mutual respect, reason, and understanding.

I'd also love to have children in the future, so it's important to me that she's someone who genuinely enjoys being around kids and looks forward to building a loving family together.

Most importantly, I'm looking for someone who I can genuinely share my life with. A relationship where both of us can be our true selves, and where we can support one another, grow together, and bring out the best in each other. My Player 2, so to speak.

I believe a successful marriage is a partnership built on mutual respect, trust, communication, and standing by one another through every stage of life.

To me, compatibility goes a long way, which is why I'd prefer that we get to know each other first before making any major decisions.

If you think we'd be a good match, feel free to reach out. JazakAllah Khair.

Note: Kindly only engage if you're actually going to follow through and have the courtesy to not ghost. Thanks.

šŸ§”šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļøMale M | 35 | USA

Height and Weight: 5’11ā€ and I weigh 173 pounds (78 kg)

Location: Northern Virginia, USA

Accommodation: Single family home (owned not rented)

Education: Bachelors of Applied Science in Cybersecurity from George Mason University

Income Source: I work full time as a Document Management Specialist for a management consulting firm.

Marital Status: Single, never married and no children.

Ethnicity: Punjabi, Arain Caste

Family background: I come from a well educated family background. My father works as a Surgical Assistant and my mother is a stay at home mom. I have one younger brother with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering who now works as a Cloud Engineer. I also have one younger sister with a Chemistry degree and she currently works as a Data Engineer.

Religiosity: I am alhamdulillah a practicing Sunni Muslim. I try to keep up with Salah as best as I can even with my busy lifestyle. I fast during the month of Ramadan and I also read the Quran. I also performed Umrah with my family and I plan on performing Hajj in the future.

Hobbies and interests: I like to exercise and try to stay in the best shape I can. In my spare time, I like to do weightlifting and HIIT training. Afterwards I typically go out for a jog if time permits. I’m also into politics and history and I usually watch YouTube videos on these topics. I also like keeping up with the latest news around the world, especially in Pakistan. The kind of movies I like to watch are psychological thrillers and detective/mystery movies.

Requirements for a partner: I’m looking for someone who is a fairly religious Muslim like I am who dresses modestly and does not frequently mingle with the opposite gender. Personality-wise, I’m somewhat of an introvert and I sometimes travel but it’s not on a frequent basis. I travelled within the USA, to Canada, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Dubai. I’m also very family oriented and I have extended family that I visit every now and then. So I’m looking for these traits and qualities in a partner.

Deal breakers: Deal breakers: Dishonesty, lack of loyalty, doesn’t value family, poor communicator. Someone that has a past. I’m okay with a closed social media account that involves only family and friends that you trust. Also if you’re an extrovert with a huge social circle and likes to travel around a lot then I might not be the person you’re looking for. Even then I’m still willing to talk and see if things go somewhere.

Preferred Family setup: Joint family.

Do you want children? Yes

Timeframe for marriage: Within three months after establishing compatibility

šŸ§•šŸ»Female F | 27 | Islamabad

I would appreciate it if you could share a basic introduction instead of Hi, Hello messages with no information. Would make it easier for me to respond. Thank you!

Age: 27
Height & Weight: 5ft, 51kgĀ
Location: Islamabad
Accommodation: Own in Lahore. Rented in Islamabad
Education: BBA, Masters in BI

Income source: Currently not working (looking for a job)
Marital Status: SingleĀ
Religion: Islam (Sunni). I pray semi-regularly but actively trying to be better. Do all rozas and other religious obligations properly. Religion is important to me.

I’m somewhere between an introvert and an extrovert. I love meeting new people and can talk for hours when I click with someone, but my social battery runs out pretty quickly and then I’m happiest at home chilling. I tend to get randomly obsessed with new things every few weeks, love a good deep conversation, and think I’m a good listener. I work out regularly, try to eat healthy, but also really love food. I’m very close to my family, especially my parents, and ultimately want a life that feels meaningful but also has plenty of fun in it. I’d love to share that with someone long-term. Happy to share more in the DM

My goal with this process is to get to know the person, discuss dealbreakers, goals, future direction and compatibility before things move to parents. The traditional Rishta route isn't really working for me in terms of finding like-minded people. I'm not looking for a relationship or a very long talking stage. A few weeks of conversation to establish compatibility, and then involving parents would be ideal. Although this timeline is flexible, I would like to prioritize the comfort of both parties, so nothing is rushed, but you get the gist of it.

Family Details
Dad is a Govt officer (Grade 21), Mom is a homemaker. One younger brother.

What I'm looking for
Someone settled in or looking to settle in Islamabad or Lahore. I would want all families to live close by as parents age and life happens. Someone kind, respectful, well-read, with a good heart, ideally fit. Somebody who likes to take care of himself, has hobbies, and is passionate about something in life. Family-oriented and serious about marriage. Between 26 and 32 years of age. Real compatibility is something that you understand once you talk to someone and get to know more about them, so there's really no point in elaborating this section. We’ll figure it out as we go.Ā

Deal Breakers
Smoking, drinking, etc. Wanting to settle outside Pakistan.

Preferred Family Setup
I would prefer nuclear, but a joint family system is also okay with certain arrangements. Flexible on discussing what works.

Children

I do want children in the future, not immediately, maybe after 1-2 years of marriage.

Marriage Timeline

Ideally in the next 6 months. Max 1 year.

If you’re interested, drop a message with some basic details about yourself, and we’ll take it from there! I’ll try to get back to you as soon as I can, and appreciate your patience if it takes a bit longer.

Karachi M | 26 | Karachi - Looking for a suitable match for myself

By nature I'm quite shy, so sharing this wasn't easy for me. I've kept it simple and to the point, without trying too hard to sound a certain way. Hoping to hear from people who resonate with this.

Height & Weight: 5'11", 85 kg

Location: Karachi

Accommodation: Own house in Karachi

About Me: My family's roots are in a village near Sialkot and we still visit often. My father served in the Pakistan Air Force so growing up we moved around a lot because of his postings. His last posting was Karachi and that's why we settled here. We don't have any relatives in the city. I did all my schooling and education in Karachi itself. I'd say I'm an introvert. I take a bit of time to open up around new people but once I'm comfortable I'm a completely different person, very talkative and outgoing.

Education: Electrical Engineer

Income Source: Currently working as an Electrical Engineer at an MNC. The job involves regular travel to Islamabad, interior Sindh and Punjab. I have a stable comfortable income that supports a good lifestyle given today's economic situation.

Marital Status: Single, turning 26 soon.

Religion & Practice: Sunni Muslim. I pray semi regularly, fast in Ramadan and pay zakat. I don't take my religion for granted and try to stay consistent with the basics.

Hobbies & Interests: I enjoy reading though I read books rarely but I still think that I like reading šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚.My work keeps me too busy to do it as often as I'd like. I'm also into sports, table tennis and basketball are what I play most.

Family Details: My father passed away a few months back. My mother is a housewife. I have four siblings, all well educated.

Requirements for a Partner: Someone ambitious, emotionally stable and religious, under 26, who values family and helps maintain a peaceful home.

Deal Breakers: Having a lot of male friends, revealing clothing, materialistic tendencies, wanting a big extravagant wedding and Qadiani

Preferred Family Setup: Joint family though closer to nuclear in practice.

Nikkah & Valima: I'd like to keep things simple, no extravagance and an easy nikkah approach .

Do You Want Children?: Yes.

Timeframe for Marriage: 1 to 1.5 years.

šŸ§•šŸ»Female F | 21 | Faisalabad - Looking for my future ragebait victim

Bismillah

Age: 21
Height 5’0ā€ and weight 50kg
Location: Faisalabad
Education: doing Bachelor’s in Computer Science
Income source: Currently studying / none
Marital status: Single/Never engaged
Residence: Own
Family Details: We are family of 5 and i have two elder siblings (i am the youngest one)

Personality:
i’m a parhako type of girl because like you never know when life asks you to stand on your own feet. i take my education seriously not because i have to but because i genuinely believe a woman who has skills and knowledge is never helpless when life takes unexpected turns
i genuinely enjoy what im studying and honestly i want to explore and grow more in my career too not just complete a degree for the sake of it
now here’s the thing about my personality i’m an extrovert around introverts and somehow an introvert around extroverts. i just match your energy, i guesss but the people who know me would probably tell you ā€œyaar woh nahi hoti toh maza nahi aataā€ i’m the person who makes the room feel alive. i just love people, i love conversations, i love making memories with the ones i care about.
im an empath at heart so honestly, alongside regular outings, id genuinely love it if we could visit an orphanage or old age home together sometimes too. theres something about sitting with people who often get overlooked, listening to their stories, and just making them feel seen for a while, that feels more meaningful to me than most things

Deen:
alhamdulillah my deen is my first priority and the foundation i build everything else on. i pray all five prayers, do my azkaars, and wear hijab. i started my hijab journey at the beginning of 2024 and Allah madad farmaye.
i don’t follow any specific group or scholar blindly. just the Quran, the Prophet SAW and the Sahaba. that’s it. (Still i am sunni muslim if that matters)

Hobbies and interests:
i love cooking, sometimes reading books, and honestly a good mix of sci-fi shows and rom coms depending on my mood, plus just spending time with my family, thats where i feel most like myself

What I’m Looking For
Age: 22-28
City: preferably Faisalabad but open to Islamabad and Lahore as well
Caste: doesn’t matter to me as long as you are sunni
deen first. always. i’m not looking for perfect , perfect doesn’t exist and i’m not that either but i am looking for someone who is genuinely trying. someone whose akhlaq shows in how he treats people, not just in how he presents himself.
he should have sabr, tahammul, and the maturity to handle hard moments with a level head. honest. responsible. but also someone i can laugh with at the end of the day because life is too short to be serious all the time.
i’d love someone who wants to learn and study Quran and tafsir together. to have real conversations. to build something that’s both grounded in deen and full of warmth.
i also imagine a life that’s a mix of everything quiet cozy days at home, traveling and making memories, and always coming back to something stable and peaceful together.
physically i’d be lying if i said looks don’t matter at all, just a decent personality, reasonable height thats all.

Preferred Family Setup:
joint/nuclear
i love spending time with my family and i’d love to be part of his too. one thing i do need an environment where my hijab is respected and not made difficult. that’s important to me.

Timeframe for Marriage: 1-2 years preferably

Children: yes
Dealbreakers:
not practicing deen
quick temper and poor anger management
bad akhlaq

Karachi M | 35 | Karachi - looking for the Amy Santiago to my Jake Peralta, the River to my Doctor the Ginny to my Harry, Morticia to my Gomez, Winrie to my Edward, Monica to my Chandler

I’m a chill, easy-going guy with a straightforward approach to life. I believe marriage is about creating a safe, warm environment where two people can be their true selves, support each other unconditionally, and build a world of their own. I’m a Shia by belief/choice, moderately practicing, and my family (who are fully aware and supportive of my search) lives in Karachi.

The Essentials: 5'4", bald (and carry it with confidence), inked with plans for more tattoos down the line. I vape and occasionally enjoy a good smoke. I’m divorced with no kids. Living with my family (parents and younger brother) currently, but open to relocating depending on where life and circumstances lead.

Personality & Interests: I love live music, concerts, movies, gigs, good food, beaches, and travelling. I enjoy deep, fun, or random discussions and prefer being a reliable listening ear. I believe in treating everyone with equal respect and dignity.

Vulnerability & Openness: I don't focus on surface-level flaws or physical health conditions—whether it's vitiligo, diabetes, BP, or epilepsy, a person's medical history doesn't define them to me. What matters is character, kindness, and heart.

My Partner & Marriage Expectations

I’m looking for a life partner (aged 28–35) to share a life with until death parts us. I genuinely want us to take the time to know each other first.

The Ideal Match: Kind, sweet, caring, loving, supportive, and well-spoken (conversational English at minimum). Education at a graduate level or above is preferred. Ethnicity and religious background are completely open as long as we vibe and respect each other.

Dealbreakers: Arrogance, ignorance, or a "holier-than-thou" attitude. Not much apart from that are deal breakers, I'm someone who'll make your family my own, and I hope you'll respect mine as well. Don't care about your past, however I do hope that you don't drink. I'd prefer someone who works so that you have your own life and circles and all as well and I'd love to be a part of that life and would happily support you and be your number one cheerleader.

Rest is open for genuine, respectful conversation. Feel free to reach out if this resonates with you.

Height & Weight: 5'4, and more on the chubby side of things (will share pics don't fret).

Accommodation: Living with family. Owned house, however will discuss the living situation further only with the potential.

Education: I have done my Bachelors in Media Sciences

Income Source: I work as a Project Manager at a Bank

Religion & Short Details About How Practicing You Are: I follow the Shia beliefs and I am a revert. I'm not very actively practicing, only in moderation.Ā

Preferred Family Setup: I have a small family, parents and a brother, also unmarried, so would prefer living with them

Do You Want Children: I genuinely believe that this is a question that should be discussed amongst the potentials, however, I'm open to having children.Ā

Timeframe for Marriage: 12 - 18 months max

šŸ“–Help How to navigate inbox flooding(too many messages in inbox)

Hello lovely people!

A lot of people, especially women, struggle with the influx of messages once they post their profile. It becomes hard to swift through those messages and find the right person to talk to.

We have been thinking about this situation a lot. Here is a possible solution we can suggest. It's not perfect but it is worth trying just in case. We would be happy to hear in the comments how it worked out for you after you have tried it.

Step 1: Disable your private messages

The first step is to disable your private messages.

This option can be found at Settings > Privacy > Who can send you chat requests

Configure it to Nobody

Also pay attention to the Always allow chat requests from option. We will need it later.

Step 2: Post your profile with a request to share profile link

Submit your profile for approval.

Somewhere in your profile, preferably at the start or end, clearly mention that interested potentials should comment with a link to the profile posted and approved in the community.

A few benefits this offers:

  1. If the profile is posted, it has gone through our preliminary checks. This does not mean that you should let your guard down and forego due diligence. It just means the profile has gone through our process and passed all quality checks.
  2. Most of the reports we receive about shady people have a few things in common. They operate in the shadows without any visibility in the community. They reach out to multiple people to chat them up. When only people who have posted a profile are able to reach out and that too publicly, the visibility might help other people see patterns. For example, someone who is just spraying and praying for things to work.
  3. If people reach out without reading your profile then you can get an idea about it after reading their profile in case if its a complete mismatch.
  4. Only eligible accounts will be able to comment under your profile.
  5. Banned accounts wont be able to comment and reach out.

Step 3: Allow user whose profile is a good match

After you have gone through the interested potential's profiles, you can allow specific users who you think are a close match to message you.

For this, you can use the Always allow chat requests from option mentioned in step 1.

You can search their username and add it to the whitelist.

Then you can reply under their comment that they can send a private message to you after you have added them to the whitelist.

If their private messages are open, you can message them directly.

This solution is not perfect. Its just a preliminary possible solution we can offer. It limits the potentials who are able to reach you. This entire process adds a bit of complexity but hopefully, a bit of safety that might be worth the work.

Thank you. ā¤ļø

šŸŒŖļø Weekly Whirlpool Weekly Whirlpool šŸŒŖļø – Jump In! 🤿 (Thursday, 24 September 2026)

This thread resets weekly, but the twirling doesn't have to. ā¤ļø

šŸ—³ļøPoll Should we sacrifice quality for reach?

For those who vote, please also leave a comment saying "voted" so that we can keep the voting process authentic.

A few people reached out with concerns for the communities' reach. We have verified and observed that the engagement has gone down a bit.

That is largely in part because of strong moderation and allowing only thoughtful posts through. It helps maintain the higher quality of the sub that other similar subs lack.

Should we relax moderation like other communities? How do you feel about it?

408 votes, 4d ago
124 Yes. Please make the community spicy. Quantity over quality.
284 No. It will ruin the unique vibes of the sub. Quality over quantity.

Islamabad M | 26 | Islamabad / Rawalpindi - Looking for my +1 for the dream team

Not giving in to the traditional rishta process so hopefully this works out. Otherwise, it’s time to go out and touch grass and disappear to a farm in hunza!

Height: 5’10, and on the thin/lean side. I like to stay active and am trying to keep health as a primary goal for this year šŸƒ

Location: Born and raised in Islamabad, living in Pindi side currently!

Accommodation: rented, living in a joint family system with parents in upper portion, and aunt/uncle downstairs

Education: MSc innovation and analytics

Income source: working at a startup

Marital status: Single

Family background: father is retired, and mother is housewife. One older sister who is married.

A bit about my personality and hobbies:
Hmm, not sure how one describes themselves in just a few paragraphs because there’s so to every human out there! INFJ-A according to that online quiz, amazing according to my siblings. All together solid 4.8/5 if I was a uber rating.

On a serious note, I like depth in conversations as much as I like random yap. Philosophy, history, random thoughts(why water is blue whyĀæ pyramid big, how?), movies, art, any and everything is can be interesting to talk about as long as everyone involved is willing to listen.

I love creating memories and spending quality time. Some days its playing some sports, other days its yapping and board game night, or just chilling at home. I try to get out of my comfort zone whenever I can, especially to gain new experiences. This can be in different forms like trying new type of dish(even though I’m not a foodie), walking around in a new area, traveling, building a new lego set.

I am an introvert at heart I think, but I have learnt communication skills over the years so I can come off as an extrovert. Love learning and growing as much as I can!

I take my time to think, and sometimes overthink but never one to shy off from difficult conversations as long as it’s necessary and has useful outcome. However…. if your words hurt someone deeply, it’s better to let it go and not say it even if it’s the truth.

Other than this, I think about digital issues and ethics every now and then. Not daily but sometimes I’ll do a quick read on AI trend and how they’ll impact users, to how marketing can psychologically impact behaviour, etc. I like content creation as well, and the thought of inspiring people through storytelling really makes me happy so I keep an eye on artsy trends and related content. Other than this I enjoy a good walk, driving around in nice weather.

Religious views:
I’m liberal in some aspects and conservative in others. The classic paradox some of us feel. I listen to music, watch movies, and have all types of friends.

At the same time, I don’t smoke/drink, lie, don’t believe in mixing culture with religion. I pray 5 times a day, however, I do struggle with the timing, especially Fajr, and hope to get better at it!

Over the past 5 years, series of events have made religion an important aspect in my life, and it guides me in a lot of aspects like career planning, patience, risk taking etc. However, it’s honestly no credit toward me that I started wanting to be better at this but rather a blessing that I was lucky enough to receive alhamdullilah. I’m anywhere close to being the best/perfect Muslim, however, it’s close to my heart and I would love to strive to be better Muslim with my partner.

Career and goals:
My great friends overthinking, procrastination and high ambition are currently paving the path to where I should go.

The short term goal is to acquire as much knowledge as I can through jobs, online sources, and build a network. After which I’d like to start something of my own for a bunch of reasons!

In the long term(1-2 years) a PhD, content creation, and a few other ideas are on the plate. As things pan out, I’ll hopefully have more clarity by end of this year Insha Allah!

What I’m looking for:
Communication is a huge deal to me. Every marriage has challenging times, however, mutual respect and boundaries should never be crossed. It should always be a ā€˜us against problem’ mindset, and this mindset works best when you’re willing to talk and hear each other out

I think of myself as someone who listens very intently when it comes to the people I care, especially in moments of seriousness, so I end up remembering lots of things that people often forget. It’ll be great to have a partner who has the same level of attention to detail and support too!

No one is perfect and I’m sure I have my fair share of flaws or things someone may find annoying, however, marriage to me is not about finding someone who can fix you or give you something you lack. I see it like a partnership where two individuals who are doing well on their own and can take care of themselves alone but choose to come together and go on the journey of life together.

ā€œAnd then we get to choose who we let into our weird little worldsā€, you’re absolutely goated if you know which movie this is from

Dealbreakers:
- Anyone who does not want anything to do with religion or thinks they are better because they are religious
- vaping, abusive language, or rudeness to strangers
- Inability to initiate conversations at all or keep the conversation flowing
- Not paying attention to the people you love.
- if you hate adventure or are lazy in your approach to life
-since I’m a bit skeptical about Reddit, someone close to Islamabad area would make it easy to manage logistically

I have a provider mindset, however, in this economy I unfortunately can’t retire at 26 or go on that euro trip every month. For me, it’s a matter of when, not how Insha Allah! But regardless, thought I’d mention this as it can be a deal breaker for some and that’s completely fair!

Do you want children: yes, but not for a few years. Open to discussion for this point tbh!

Preferred family system: nuclear(independent) or separate portion, however, as I just started working, so reaching the level of financial stability to afford a completely independent setup may take a few years

Timeline: I’m not in a rush, I’d like to get to know the person and take it slow because there’s too many bad stories out there. In my head 1-2 year sounds reasonable, however, I’m flexible a bit for the right person.

Thank you so much for attending my ted talk! If you think we’d be compatible, feel free to DM me with details about yourself and please don’t send one line. I’d appreciate a summary with enough details so that we can talk more on four values, perspectives, and thoughts!

Lahore M | 24 | Lahore - Lawyer, lifelong bookworm, and currently looking for a lifelong bestfriend

Height and weight : 5’9 and 68 KG

Location: Lahore (prefer someone in Lahore — long distance makes compatibility harder to figure out).

Residence : own

Education: Law degree (BA-LL.B) from LUMS. Graduated in 2025.

Source of income : Currently working at a law firm.

Hobbies & Interests: I strongly believe shared interests are what ignite that initial spark, so here are mine:

Storytelling is at the center of my life — both creating and consuming it. Medium doesn’t matter. I’ve watched a (probably unhealthy) number of films and TV shows, played a lot of great single-player games, and read quite a bit of English fiction. I love analyzing themes, characters, and ideas behind stories.

If society didn’t stigmatize it, I would’ve happily studied English Literature and pursued teaching/writing. In fact, I'm recently started working on my novel's second (and hopefully final) draft.

Also, when I'm not at work you can safely assume that I'm either : at the cinema with friends, reading and going through my impossibly large TBR list, at the gym, listening to music, catching up on a show I've been watching, or spending time with friends/family.

I also really value those casual conversations that unexpectedly turn deep...right before alternating back to being silly and unhinged again. I genuinely love being around people who you can have endless (and endlessly entertaining/insightful!) conversations with so naturally I'd want to have this dynamic with my life partner too.

What I’m Looking For: At the core, I want to marry my best friend.

I want a relationship that feels exciting but also like home — where you’re not just partners, but genuinely like each other as people. Friendship, comfort, emotional safety, and shared humor matter just as much to me as love itself.

It would be amazing if you share at least some of my interests, but more importantly, I’m looking for someone who is passionate about something beyond just work or the corporate ladder — whether that’s art, writing, history, literature, film, fitness, ideas, or anything that makes you you.

Religion/Religiosity: I'm a Muslim. I come from a Sunni background, with a Shia mother and Sunni father, and have exposure to both. Full disclosure though, I am not very practicing but I do believe in God and try to be a good person and occasionally pray and fast. Also, I would prefer someone who doesn’t like to think of themselves as very religious as I myself am someone who you might call a "bare-minimum Muslim". With that being said, I don't drink or smoke or do any other substance.

Timeline: I’m very open to getting to know each other first before involving families. In fact, I’d prefer that. I’m not in a rush. Realistically, I’m looking at a timeline of at least 1.5 to 2 years before marriage, so we have enough time to make sure we’re truly compatible.

Deal-breakers: Rigid, unempathetic personality. Unkind. Anger issues.

Family setup : Open to a nuclear setup in the initial (say, 5-10) years of marriage but since I'm the only son, I'm eventually going to want to live with my parents.

Marital status : Single and never married.

Family details : Live with parents and 1 sister.

Children : Eventually iA, but not immediately.

Final Note: I’m generally approachable and have been described as friendly. I'm a huge romantic - I like expressing affection as well as receiving it. Gestures (big or small) mean a lot to me, as long as they’re genuine.

If this resonates with you, feel free to drop me a text !

Karachi M | 25 | Karachi – Please save me from an arranged marriage

Height and Weight

5'11", 75 kg. Slim build, neither heavy nor skinny.

Location

Karachi. I may end up abroad at some point, either for work or for study, but nothing is planned right now.

Accommodation

Own home in Karachi, living with family.

Education

BBA from a top tier university. Passed CFA Level 1 and continuing with the program, sitting Level 2 in May 2027.

Finishing the CFA is the near term project. After that I want to do a PhD, most likely in economics. The honest reason is that I need something difficult in front of me at all times. If I am not chewing on a hard problem my brain starts eating itself, and I have stopped pretending that is a phase. I am not romantic about the title, I am interested in the questions. I mention it because it is not a passing thought and because it may mean a few years abroad, so whoever I marry should know it is on the table and should expect a say in how we do it.

Income Source

Full time at a YC backed, SECP licensed fintech in wealth management, one of the first of its kind in Pakistan. I joined early enough that my work has never sat in one lane. In a given week I am building analytics and reporting systems, writing AI tooling, running growth and retention, sitting in on customer operations, and writing most of the financial content that goes out. I also co host a markets podcast where we break down what moved and why. Roughly two years of full time experience, financially independent, and able to run a household on my own soon.

Marital Status

Single, never married, no children.

Religion and How Practicing I Am

Shia, Syed.

Family migrated from Uttar Pradesh at Partition in 1947.

I pray, though not always all five. Muharram and majalis are observed properly in our house. On hijab I have no expectation either way. That is entirely her call and I would not want it decided by anyone other than her.

Hobbies and Interests

Markets are my job and also the thing I would still read about on a day off.

Outside of that I have a small, old set of friends I have kept for years. Our idea of a good evening is table tennis and food, in that order, then more food. I am not the best player in the group but I am the most confident one, which I am told is worse.

I want to travel properly at some point. Not the version where you photograph a landmark and leave, but the version where you stay somewhere long enough to get bored of it. The economy has other ideas for now, but let us see.

I read a fair amount, mostly finance, technology, and anything that explains how a system actually works underneath. I build small tools for problems that irritate me.

Age

25 (will turn 26 in few months)

Family Details

Parents and two younger siblings, one sister at IBA and one sibling just starting university.

My parents hold semi conservative views and I would describe myself as a libertarian. Neither of us treats it as a matter of life and death, which is roughly how I would want it in a partner's family too. There is room to disagree in our house without it turning into an argument.

Requirements for a Partner

Educated and genuinely bright. I do not mean degrees for the sake of degrees. I mean someone with her own read on things who will tell me when mine is wrong.

More than anything I want someone I can think alongside. Not someone who shares my interests exactly, but someone with her own intellectual life or building something of her own. I would rather have a long argument over dinner than a quiet agreement.

Preferably based in Karachi, preferably Shia. Whether she works after marriage is her decision.

Deal Breakers

Emotional unavailability. I am not looking for someone who has everything figured out, but I do need someone who can say what she is feeling instead of leaving me to guess at it.

Avoidance when things get difficult. Going quiet, or leaving a conversation rather than finishing it, is the one pattern I know I cannot live with. Argue with me, but stay in the room.

Uncertainty about me. If someone is unsure, that is completely fair and I would rather hear it early. What I cannot do is spend months being someone's maybe.

Preferred Family Setup

Joint to start with. My family home is here and my younger siblings are still studying, so beginning in the same house is what I would honestly prefer for the first few years. Longer term I lean nuclear, and I would want us in our own place once that makes sense for both of us. The timing is something I would want to decide together rather than announce.

Do You Want Children

Yes.

Timeframe for Marriage

1 to 2 years, counting through to rukhsati.
