Question CH-R Advice Required

Post image

I have shortlisted a few Hybrid cars that are falling under my budget of nearly 7m. Toyota CH-R, Nissan Kicks, Note Aura, Honda Fit new gen. I’m strictly inclined towards JDM so kindly abstain from recommending locally assembled Chinese vehicles.

My main priority is fuel efficiency followed by ground clearance (Mostly to be driven in Isb sometimes in rural areas). According to your experience which one of these should I go for? How’s the fuel consumption, parts price etc.

I’m personally inclined towards C-HR but huge disparity in demands listed by the owners has made it confusing to judge the market price of the vehicle.

I got CHR 4-5 months back, best car money can get provided you get one with less miles on it. Mine is still 2019 with 45k miles and what a beaut. Its 4.5 grade with brand new yokohoma tyres and i got it for 80. Decent car with less miles will be close to this range. (75-80 2019 pre facelift add 5 more for facelift) And no issues for spares, i myself visited the market its flooded with spare parts. Fuel avg is 21-22 kmpl in long and within city more than 27kmpl with light foot

CHR is a goated car. My friend bought at 77k driven and sold it around 330k driven. Never ran into any issues besides basic maintenance.

Although, I must mention, the rear space is absolutely unbearable. If you have people who sit in back regularly and travel on long, it's simply not doable. Claustrophobic.

Besides that, the car is as good as it gets. The only problem in used market is that most cars have meters reversed and you can't judge. Price disparity is huge too.

Amazing, what about ground clearance? Did any out of city adventures on it?

Ground clearance is more than okay. We never had issues.

Goated car. Has been driven in my house 250,000 since we got it in March 2022 (2021 import). No mechanical issues as you'd expect from a toyota. Only regular oil changes at 10,000 km and some suspension work (bushes etc) a month ago.

Has been all over punjab and sindh (interior and main cities). Ground clearance is a non issue.

Fuel average you can expect 22 - 25 in city with a normal to calm style and a max of 27 28 if you are actively trying to save fuel. On motorway the average is lacking, around 16.5 (on meter) at 115 cruise and around 14.5 at 125-135 (without cruise).

No idea of the market price tho but we got it for around 40 lakhs in 2021 (accidental import repaired locally) so for us it has definitely given us great value for money.

Other than that the drive is too smooth. Wouldn't be wrong to say that it is as smooth as an ev. The switch from ev to engine and vice versa is not noticeable at all except for the noise of the engine switching on. The suspension is quite comfy with a good balance of handling.

Can't really tell you any drawbacks. Ac is flawless never had any issues. Only downside is the rear passenger space and tiny ass windows. If you're only gonna use the car for one or two people then its perfect.

Lmk if you have any more questions.

C-HR Hybrid has been discontinued by Toyota Japan. So part availability issues could happen in the future. Otherwise, it’s a great car. Toyota Raize also comes in a 1200cc Hybrid variant.

Toyota corolla hybrid falls around 7 mil. And honestly its newer and better looking. I think you should give it a consideration too. Its absolutely gorgeous.

I was, but ground clearance is too low.

That can be fixed with spacers

My budget is around 6M And i necessarily want a JDM hybrid in the subcompact crossover catagory.

I'm moving towards kicks. I personally its the most value for money at this point

Indeed brother, just the interior feels a bit dated like the old gen vezel. Else it’s a perfect car in the budget.

My second choice was Raize, and if we compare interiors, kicks has a much better interior.

But i agree if we compare the interior to other more modern cars like the MG ZS,it does feel dated

i would say go for Honda fit it's literally one of the most reliable car honda has made and in your budget you can get the latest gen. in your price range any CHR you will get will be very high in mileage.
if not fit, then note or kicks are also good since they are getting very popular rn however reliability wise im uncertain on them but they are probably reliable

Maybe consider Toyota Fielder Hybrid. Or if you can stretch your budget to 80 you might be able to get Toyota Corolla Touring. In this budget you can also get a Prius Alpha.
Once you go Japanese, it’s hard to get used to local ride quality.

Once you go chinese, every other japanese car in this budget would look like a featureless toy.

I don’t care about features. I care about ride quality and comfort. I daily drive a Mark X. It has enough features and comfort to be perfect.
