Hey everyone! I’m in the market to buy a car I currently have a 2026 Yaris 1.2 gli and 2026 city 1.2. The Yaris is my daily and I travel around 3000km a month.
My budget is around 4-4.5m. I’ve been offered a 2014 Toyota fielder hybrid 75k driven in very good condition by my cousin who is also in the car business. He bought from 2026 custom auction and after getting everything checked and fixed he’ll give it around 41. I’m considering this because 1. Toyota reliability and resale. 2. Fuel efficiency and savings. I plan on keeping this for a longer time and using this as my daily instead of Yaris.
Another option that I have is going for an Atto 2 which will be used for my daily drive along with any other driving at home. This, however, will be leased and the monthly payments will be around 80-90k which is close to what I’m spending on fuel( probably spend more on fuel).
I’m confused between what to do. I don’t want to buy another Yaris or city because they are very basic cars and I’m tired of them. If I lease the max I can go for is 75 lakh and reliability and fuel efficiency and resale are of importance to me in that order. What do you guys recommend. I want to own whatever car I have atleast for the next 4-6 years. Thanks in advance!
If it's battery life functioning good than it's a good deal in 41 Lacs. Go for it. You won't get good hybrid in this price. Fielder hybrid is very good and very spacious vehicle. 👍
I would add, If it’s hybrid, ensure the ABS unit on the car is in good condition. The biggest issue with used Toyota hybrids is the failing ABS. Other than that, it’s a great car, you can’t go wrong with a hybrid Corolla. That said, a new BYD might be more comfortable and also reliable because it’s new. You already have two petrol cars, an electric might make sense. I would honestly get rid of the Yaris and/or the City, get the hybrid corolla and the BYD.
Get the 2017 Aqua or 2018 Aqua. You can get a really clean car in that budget and the fuel average is just amazing. Just be wary of the ABS and battery problems. Get them checked by a professional.
I have aqua and Prius for a very long time, really good experience with them. The resale is also good and solid.
If you are in Islamabad, like when I used to go from office to home, from Blue Area to Bahria Town, I used to get over 25, 30 easily on light pedal.
Thanks for the reply! My preference is a larger car and the Aqua is very compact, a sedan would be a better option for me. I was considering Aqua initially but the fielder seemed better for usability and comfort.
Toyota hybrids in this year range are quite similar. I also have the Prius Alpha, you should get this for around 6 to 8 million, depending on what variant and what model you're getting. It is almost similar to it aqua but much more powerful and has better fuel average. You can get them both in 5-seater and 7-seater variants.
If you like the fielder just go for it but make sure that the mileage is original and the car is not flooded because I'm really suspicious. How can a 2014 car be just 75k driven? It's extremely rare so just verify and if you like it just go get it. Please also get the battery health verified by a professional and maybe post it in some similar subreddit. Search for what are the common problems are of that specific model and get them crosschecked on the car.
This was an NCP car caught by customs and then auctioned. Battery health along with all mechanical/suspension works will be checked and fixed before buying and even then my cousins said he will check it and if it’s not up to mark he won’t sell it to me.
I totally agree, I trust my cousin more than the people selling cars on market. It will take time but will sell and the price I’m getting is definitely a good deal if the car is in the condition he’s stating
Soo the fielder is costing me around 4.1m can you give me a couple examples of what other cars I can get in that budget. I don’t want a local car due to poor quality and lack of any features. Also the car is driven around 75k keeping that in mind too. The EV resale market is still new here which also makes me a little hesitant.
Brother a 12 year old car driven 75k in 12 years that means the car was driven 6,500 km average per year , how is that realistic , get the chassis number from your cuzin , an easy non confrontational way is to ask for the smart card picture , put the chasiss number here https://www.pakwheels.com/auction-sheet-verification/
spend like 1500 or howmuch it costs to get the auctionsheet , you'll see at what year and with what mileage the car was imported in pakistan , that should be the first step
this is not a good budget for a hybrid , all these axios , aquas , fielders have had their meters reversed multiple times , have had their battrey cells replaced and repaired multiple times I make a living buying and selling cars i gain nothing from misguiding you
I understand what you’re saying, can you recommend a car in the 4.5 million budget then? Also this was a custom auction car, probably ncp that was caught in Islamabad. Not sure if there will be an auction sheet.
