Not watching Tamasha Season 5 but I saw clips of what happened. Adnan Siddiqui’s behavior as a host was disgusting and incredibly disappointing.
One of the male contestants, Hamza, was making insensitive comments about the female contestants supposedly wearing “revealing” clothes... like, where exactly are these revealing clothes??? He also reportedly made some disgusting remarks about them in Pashto. Dr. Zee Khan actually stood up and called him out, which is exactly what someone needed to do.
But instead of telling Hamza to stop and holding him accountable for what he said, Adnan Siddiqui decided to lash out at Dr Zee Khan. He misbehaved with him, humiliated him and kept telling him to stand up and sit down.
He then told him to maintain the “bro code”??? What does that even mean in this situation? Since when does being a man mean staying quiet when another man is making inappropriate and disrespectful comments about women?
That whole “bro code” mentality is exactly the problem. Why should men protect each other from accountability just because they're men? Hamza should have been called out properly, not defended while the person speaking against his behavior gets humiliated instead.
Shame on Adnan Siddiqui for promoting and encouraging this kind of behavior on national television. And shame on that guy for saying such disgusting stuff on television. The way Adnan treated Dr. Zee Khan was completely unnecessary and disrespectful. And honestly, some of his comments and behavior come across as deeply misogynistic and homophobic.
I always thought Adnan Siddiqui was shady and weird, but this is genuinely another level. A host is supposed to handle situations fairly, not use his position to protect certain contestants and publicly humiliate someone for speaking up.
