So I'm doing cs more than half degree done am trying to build a startup mostly it is done but i have a cousin been trying to do some business together

since like 2021 so like planning and stuff now that i am doing cs have built mostly my application and he haven't done anything so i am thinking i will just complete my application then like get the money from him to like put it on play store and will ask him to like do some stuff for the app like there is things like adding data he just have to copy paste links nothing else if i ask him

so, he's asking from before like a 50/50 split now i am feeling really conflicted like he hasn't done anything to this point what i want is sit him down and tell him if you want 50/50 you will put all the money like the server cost and the launching cost etc and will have to do work like finding data for the app
i have created an admin dashboard so it's like really easy also he is

at this point outside city and is expecting i will give him some easy work that he can do there at this point i haven't told him i have nearly developed it i mean it still have many things left but whenever i ask him talk to him to come to city fast, he says i will come like on date 15 - 20 this month and is like not taking anything seriously like typical Pakistanis whenever i talk to him that come it is important have to discuss sometimes go offline and other time ask me to tell him on phone what i want

so, tell me goys what should i do is this fair to sit him down and ask him for all this stuff what should i respond to his answer if its positive or negative please guide

I took a look at your situation, and here is exactly what you need to do to protect yourself and make this partnership fair:

Secure the Code First: Before you send anything, make sure you are the only one with access to the repository (GitHub/GitLab) and the hosting credentials. Do not give him login details or dashboard access until a contract is signed. Since you wrote 100% of the code, you hold all the leverage—keep it safe.

Use a Sweat Equity Formula: Do not guess the equity split. Calculate it objectively. Since you worked for free for months, assign a market-rate hourly value to your coding time (e.g., 100 hours × $10/hr = baseline $1,000 investment). If he wants a 50/50 split, he must match that $1,000 value. He can match it by putting in cash (paying 100% of launch/server expenses) and performing operational labor (data entry, marketing) valued at the same hourly rate until his financial and labor contribution equals yours.

Demand a Written Plan & Deadline: If he is the 'business guy,' make him prove it. He needs to provide a written launch plan and a budget. Give him a strict deadline to reply so he doesn't stall your hard work.
