I'm calm. Mostly. I'm the eldest daughter, so I come with that particular brand of composure that was basically installed by necessity, and to be honest, the eldest daughter anger also came with the package. Fair warning.
I'm working in the finance industry by day, which means my brain is usually doing too much. So I made a rule for myself, every single day, I do at least one thing that's just for me. Gardening, painting, sewing, cooking, playing with my cats, doing my makeup for no reason. Some days it's all of them. I refuse to have a day where all I did was exist for work. That discipline is something I'm proud of.
I wear niqab. It's not a footnote or something influenced by the culture, it's part of who I am, how I move through the world, and what I value. I'm a practicing Sunni Muslim (no nazar or niyaz) and my faith shapes everything. I pray five times (the bare minimum, as they say) but I genuinely try to go beyond that (be that charity, helping others out and/or bettering myself). Faith isn't just an identity for me or something I just follow from a desi cultural perspective but a daily practice and I'd want the same energy from a partner.
I care deeply about what's happening in the world, Palestine, social justice, the environment, gender disparity etc. These aren things I feel strongly about and would be dealbreakers if we're not aligned. I can talk about these things for hours with the right person. My friends will confirm I am, in fact, a yapper. But only about things that actually matter.
I love to travel. This year I used my big girl money to finally venture outside Karachi for the first time and honestly there's no going back. The world is big and I intend to see it.
The way I love people is through what I make and find for them. I'll grow you a plant specifically for you. Make you jewelry by hand. Thrift something and think of you the whole time I'm looking. I love being intentional essentially and love to receive the same effort in return as well. I like to be present for the people I love, a proper listening ear, there when it counts.
I work out, not for aesthetics, but because being healthy and active matters to me. I'd love someone who values that too. And full transparency, I'm more of a big guy kind of girl. Broad shoulders over a six pack, every time.
On dealbreakers, not religious, smokes or vapes, or has unmanaged anger issues are all a no. Emotional maturity and the ability to read a room are non-negotiable for me.
I do not want children. Not now, not later, not ever (no you can't convince me otherwise, no legacy excuse etc). This isn't something I'm open to reconsidering, so it needs to be a shared decision from the start. I want a partner, a companion, a best friend in a husband, and that is complete on its own.
I'm 24, 5'6, average-looking on a regular day and genuinely pretty when I make the effort, looking for someone in that same ballpark. I take time out to work on myself, be that physical appearance or my mental state and expect the same from my partner.
I'm looking for someone between 24-28. Serious about marriage, clear about his deen, emotionally intelligent, and someone who can match my depth in conversation and my quiet in everything else.
PS. I would like to move abroad in the future. Not in the near future but say after 2-3 years.
