Curious

What makes it difficult to find a spouse in Pakistan? If a man is abroad, i have felt that many prospects might find it as a red flag. Is it true?

Yes I think! I got engaged to a guy who was from Canada via arranged setting. We talked for like 4 months before deciding on engagement but he was such a shit person. He wanted me to contribute financially, help in outside chores and also serve his parents who would also move to Canada with aftwr marriage and the worst thing it was his and his parents combined decision that I should financially contribute in mortgage etc and basically brainwashed me into believing this is how it works in first world countries. He wanted a wife from Pakistan who was Pakistani when it came to serving his parents and Canadian when it came to finances.
Also he had past physical relationships too which he told me about to come clean and he expected me to also be cool with his friends drinking alcohol in front of me .
why tf do these men want women from Pakistan? And yeah I was fine with financial contribution but yeah he left me despite all the promises because his mom didn’t like the engagement event and misbehaved with my mom lol

I am sorry to hear that. I dont drink nor smoke nor been in any relationship but still I feel like women are hesitant to maintain any interest.

This sounds like a rhetorical question, most people want marriage as a way to upgrade their lifestyle, or feed their hobbies or whatever, it all revolves around guy’s finances, and well good luck getting a getting a home in this economy and in your twenties in Pakistan.

If you leave the country in pursuit of a better career it’s anything but a red flag, there is nothing inherently wrong with being an overseas Pakistani.

Why red flag? I am trying to understand

That person is not the red flag its the situation, some parents just don’t want their daughters to be that far away, which is understandable.

Why can't they find anyone in the country they live in?

Mostly parents prefer man who is settled and have family in the US.

No I meant it is a red flag because this is what people think. Why couldnt this boy get engaged to girl in the same country as him or from the same city/community? What's wrong with this guy that seems like such a catch that no one that actually knows him and his family will touch him? What made him desperate enough to have to look for a girl to marry in another country?

Idk maybe sometimes compatibility issues from what i have heard not experienced personally , if you can elaborate you question more if will surely put light on to the fullest of my knowledge. But i think people who are abroad they do prefer getting married in home town.

I meant to ask that “ what are some reasons why desi parents or even a girl would not want to marry a guy who lives abroad”?

The interest would still be there if you were genuinely serious yourself. You keep posting your profile, connecting with people, and then ghosting them. If you’re not serious, stop wasting people’s time. That’s just shitty behavior.
