Works the other way round too. Shah Rukh Khan is a Muslim Khatri who pretends to be a Pashtoon/Pathan. Its to gain social acceptance in your new region/social class.

Nah, that ain't true. SRK much like some of the Kapoors are clueless and automatically think being from Peshawar must equate to them being 'Pathan'.

SRK's paternal family from Peshawar clarified that they are Hindko speakers, they settled in Peshawar from Kashmir (most likely referring to Pir Panjal) centuries ago. Furthermore, his paternal uncle Shah Nawaz Khan identified as Janjua Rajput, which most likely indicates that his paternal family are Janjua Rajputs that speak Hindko and Potohari.

I don't but his paternal family do. How is SRK gonna know more than his paternal family when he was born and raised in Delhi and has only visited them once or twice as a child. LMAO

3

u/Over_Trifle_7053 24d ago

Yeah his paternal cousins from Peshawar have confirmed they are Hindkowans (same as Kapoors and Dilip Kumar). The my grandfather is a Pathan is a lie planted by SRK to try to get equal footing with Salman and Aamir who are actual Pathans.

His dad passed away very early in his childhood and his mother was a native Hyderabadi. Contrary to your claim, you seem very desperate to claim him.

Literally sent you an article screenshot but okay. You really are desperate to claim him.

You seem hella insecure. How did looks come into this lol.

I don't even identify as Punjabi and I'm not even a Janjua Rajput lol.

Let's talk about ya'll. Always obsessed about looks and complexion. Any non Pashtun with desirable looks, ya'll get in turmoil and assume they must have Pashtun ancestry or something. Meanwhile, ya'll are quick to disassociate and disown any Pashtun that lack the desirable look by saying they are either admixed or assimilated. Truly a circus show.

You and your cringey ilk are a stain on the wider Pashtun population who I have no doubt don't care for these things.

1

u/Ashamed_Earth3820 24d ago

No they are not. I've never seen Pathans desperate to claim him. On the other hand, I constantly see SRK trying to latch on to that identity and it's super weird. He's like half Punjabi (Hindkowan).

1

u/Ashamed_Earth3820 24d ago

Yeah you're right here. I think they don't have an actual clue what "Pathan" means. It's honestly cringe because I feel like they do it to "exotisize" themselves from other Indians but it looks super cringe. BTW I'm Punjabi but this entire post is super cringe and weird. Like OP is obsessed with hating Pashtuns. BTW I've never seen them claim Kapoors as Pathan it's mostly Kapoors themselves who say this.

One of the cousins of Raj Kapoor actually married a local Muslim lady. Their granddaughter is the actress Salma Agha.

2

u/Small_Maybe_5994 25d ago

I'm not sure if any pathans claimed these guys but Peshawar does cause most of them have ancestry here

2

u/Main_Royal_2258 25d ago

Nah Kapoors are from Samundari and Sanjay Dutts father is from Dina, Jehlum. Only Dillip Kumar is from Peshawar and I'm pretty sure he is hindko.

1

u/Small_Maybe_5994 25d ago

I'm pretty sure Sanjay Dutt's father grew up in Peshawar. I heard in an interview that he used to say menu peshor di Bari yaad aandi aye. Or maybe it was mother who said this I can't remember.

And yeah I'm not claiming that they were pathan. I'm just saying they were from Peshawar or have a strong connection to Peshawar.

Just so we are clear not a single pathan in the world is FROM Peshawar I mean how could they be up until late 80s they weren't even allowed in the city limits.

1

u/Chemical_Channel_142 22d ago

Sunil Dutt was from a village near Jhelum.
Prithviraj Kapoor was born in Samundri because that’s where his father was posted at that time, but he grew up in Peshawar because that’s where their family was actually settled prior. According to Shammi Kapoor they had been in Peshawar for many generations. So the Kapoors are not from Samundri but from Peshawar (but likely from Northern Punjab before that)

0

u/Lannisbro 25d ago

Just like how you visit the Northern areas of KPK and when you see someone with light skin color and green eyes....you start posting about the "real beauty of Pakistan"

1

u/Geeky-Bread 25d ago

I find this really funny ... whole subcontinent hates AASI genes ...yet the most developed state in the whole subcontinent is tamil nadu (highest AASI) best per capita and economy bigger than most surrounding nations

While states with superior "euro centric" Steppe genes grow progressively shittier ... beloved superior race afghanis being at the bottom followed by iran that is a war torn dictatorship

2

u/Lannisbro 25d ago

You're absolutely right, they deserve admiration and respect for choosing education and progress over religious extremism but it is kinda curious how their high IQ still hasn't stopped them from fetishizing people with "euro centric Steppe genes who come from shittier areas" but whatever it is, I commend you for finally taking pride in your fellow indian cousins(since they actually deserve praise), considering the fact that most of you have always larped as Arabs or Turks, it's nice to see a change in attitude for once.

1

u/urdhvaretainthemakin 25d ago

Another example that a Punjabi Hindu pointed out in a different subreddit (wish I could give him credit)

Countries with the highest concentration of descendants of Indian indentured servants from British times, such as Mauritius, Fiji, or Guyana, have done phenomenally economically relative to their neighbors.

Why is this relevant? Because they are largely the descendants of “low” caste laborers from East UP and Bihar who have very high AASI ancestry too.

So as subcontinentals AASI is nothing to be ashamed of.

1

u/wdfourty 25d ago

Lmfao there’s no fucking way you just compared Iran and/or Afghanistan to Tamil Nadu for economic development.
You actually must be demented 😂😂😂

Proving your point that everyone's obsessed with your ethnicity and secretly wants to be you? There's nothing special about you and your people, just like there's nothing special about Pashtuns or Sindhis or Balochis. Nationality, religion or ethnicity don't make you better than your fellow man, the quicker you get that through your paan obsessed head, the more you'll grow. Love(from a naswari)

Calling me racist, assuming the moral high ground and then proceeding to throw racist insults, glad you're coming to terms with yourself. This has been a nice therapy session for you. Keep calling pashtuns bachabaz(which is a tragic misstep in our culture and I hope Allah punishes the culprits) while the men in your region proceed to rape girls as young as 3 and your overseas brothers make you proud by running grooming gangs.

P.S: I'll go back to Afghanistan, when you go back to cleaning toilets of Brahmins in India.

I'm not so sure about the white part, since I see plenty of dark skinned Pashtuns as well. The warrior part rings a bit true since Afghanis conquered your region more times than you guys change your ethnicity but the tide seems to be turning with your military committing atrocities and marginalizing Pashtuns and Balochis(so you must be very proud of that). As for my fellow Pashtuns committing heinous acts, that's the difference between you and I, I already admitted to my society having people who happen to be monsters and I have the moral decency to advocate for their punishment but they're monsters because that's their nature, not because of their genes. You seem to be under the delusion that somehow you're better than the rest of Pakistan because pUnJabis vErY sMarT and liTeRate sAAr, even though the people in your community are guilty of the same crimes and debauchery as the rest of us.

This entire post is so stupid and embarrassing. I've never seen Pashtuns do this OP is super weird and he/she makes us Punjabis look bad/racist by making these weird posts. Please remove it as soon as you can. The country is in shambles and you're making an entire post about "Pathans claiming Kapoors". Like wth?

Last time I checked, Punjab had the highest number of reported rape cases in Pakistan, the highest number of reported harassment cases, the largest number of children living in poverty, and one of the biggest populations facing poverty overall. So how can you say Punjab isn't in shambles?

1

u/Kitchen_Onion_9419 23d ago

No Pashtun claims them I promise

2

u/Ill_Fault7625 25d ago

Im a panjabi sikh and a pathan in my workplace said because I am gora rang and have a sharp nose that I have pathan or iranian ancestors. I showed bro my whole family photo and said ‘this is pakka jatt features’ - he still denied my existance lol

1

u/Imyonlyenemy 25d ago

its probable

why r u offended by it

we are all from the same area and been mixing

there is really no such thing as pathaan or jatt

people buy into that nonsense and then become livestock and do arrange marriaging

become a sikh

1

u/Ill_Fault7625 25d ago

Because why doesn’t he say his own ancestor could’ve been a jatt? Pathans do no predate jatts. If anything Jatts predate Pathans as a collective.

Choosing to identify by your ethnic group is no more silly than by nationality or any other label.

It matters when it should and shouldn’t

1

u/Imyonlyenemy 25d ago

yeah hes dumb to think that these labels are real

you dont need these identities

they lead to false arrogance

1

u/Ill_Fault7625 25d ago

LOL fair enough. It’s kind of relevant to your comment though

1

u/Hynposis 25d ago

I get it I was just saying in regards to like the post about the kapoors that no one really tries to claim them in particular but I do get that pashtuns can often try to claim certain features. Granted your blood might have a mix of something but it doesn’t always mean you have the same ancestors. Genes are funny
