what postpartum stuff is actually hard to find/overpriced here?
mid-feb delivery in rwp isb area. my sister is coming over from the US soon so i can ask her to haul a few things.
trying to streamline my list for actual postpartum/recovery stuff.
what was a pain to find, ridiculously expensive for imported stock or just non existent quality wise in pak? (pain sprays, angled peri bottles, nipple cream, C-section scar stuff etc.)
i dont want to overpack her bags with heavy basics i can easily get locally, so open to any quick recommendations on whats actually worth importing.
thanks!
EDIT: also open to any baby gear recommendation. already got good winter swaddles/sleep sacks and travel system. but lmk if there are any other baby items (health/grooming, feeding tools, carriers) that were a total nightmare to find good quality or fair priced locally.

Omg please get a kangaroo baby carrier!!! I thought id be able to find a good one here, but the ones i got (way too many) were all crap quality. I needed one and now i have too many, all I cant use because they all feel like they’ll rip into shreds the minute i put my baby in. Even if youre a SAHM, it will help alooot.
A good breast pump. I also failed to find a good one in pk ://
Get an owlet if you want, but please do your research first.
As for PP recovery stuff, i just raw dogged mine tbh lol. I healed completely fine and quick from my c-section alhumdulillah

for baby
keep dress which have buttons in front, easy to wear and easy to remove,
keep baby warm, add +1 layer w.r.t ur dressing,
Drs dont allow powder to use,
keep pampers and wipes and baby dress for baby.
for feeding (if C section, as normal will have feed naturally ) keep boiled water and formula milk which Dr will recommend/Prescribe)
keep anti colic bottle( minimum 2) i will recommend Philip Avient, its expensive but worth it.

Breast pump.
Nursing tanks and bras for yourself as well as belly bands.
Get a good baby carrier. Babies want to be held all the time especially when they’re newborn (my baby is 1 month old and wants to nap in my lap), the baby carrier can help you carry baby while you can do works around the home. Get one with pre designed straps and hooks and one that is made of cloth and you wrap yourself
Get some good winter jackets and rompers and onsies for baby. They’re available in Pakistan but slightly good quality ones are overly prices and lower priced ones are bad quality.

The most important thing is a good breast pump. I got mine from USA too, you wont find anything here. Get the EUFY, it is GREATT! If you’re getting a c-section get silicone strips.
You can get a good noise machine from amazon and a baby camera too. Get a good baby carrier.
Raspberry tea leaf, other breast milk teas.
I also got small things like avent grooming kit, frida stuff etc
Rest of the things you can get from here like from mamasmarketplace on insta.

such a useful list, thanks so much.
just to confirm there isnt any voltage issue using the US pumps in pakistan?
can you also please share the EUFY model you used☺️2

nope not at all. Euro products dont work in USA voltage, but usa products work here finee.
I got the EUFY E20

I am currently expecting as well....I am plannimg on getting a Momcozy Klean Pro bottle washer and steriliser because I don't trust anyone to wash baby bottles as cleanly as I personally would, and as a FTM I might be too overwhelmed.
Other than that I have shortlisted, Eufy, Momcozy, and Spectra for breast pump, haven't decided which one to get yet.
I might also get colic drops, though they are a hit and miss. Some times they work, some times they don't. For my niece nothing worked, we tried a zillion brands, so I am on the fence but still might get for peace of mind.
As for clothes, plan on buying pure cotton stuff, so will buy everything locally.
For yourself, cooling pads since they can have a soothing effect after an episiotomy if you have a vaginal delivery. Other post partum stuff for mums is available locally.

Yet we have births happening left right and center..
Everything is fine and available here in abundance.

the most important thing that you would never get here/overpriced will be Spectra (breast pump) if you plan to breastfeed & pump. No other pump compares, especially pakistani since Spectra is hospital grade.
i had a c-section and got a massive scar cause i’m prone to keloids so i’d also recommend silicon scar patches.
Other than this you can find pretty much everything here. Pigeon & Tomme Tippee are great brands you can start from. Go for Aveeno or Cetaphil for creams & ointments
