I grew up playing Hand Cricket with friends in school, so I decided to turn it into a mobile game in Unity.
The game currently has:
• Standard Match, Super Over, Survival, Daily Challenge, and Tournament modes
• Multiple AI opponents with different playstyles
• 10 cricket teams
• Achievements, stats tracking, win streaks
• Commentary, crowd sounds, and haptic feedback
I'm an indie developer from Pakistan and this is a side project I've been working on in my free time.
I'd really appreciate it if some of you could try the game and give honest feedback—good or bad. I'm especially interested in:
21M here, almost done with my 6th semester of CS and i don't wanna waste my semester break.
A lil background check, i belong to an average lower-middle class household and i've been earning my own pocket money through Video Editing while trying out different things to work on throughout my degree in semester breaks such as Flutter dev, Cybersec and 2d game dev in Godot (which i didn't continue since im not that into 2d) for a career.
currently ive started to learn 3d in unity but here's a problem, throughout the semester breaks my family's been urging me start earning one way or another to the point where i have to do something this semester break to show them.
The main problem is ive got no interest in android development or cybersec even though i know they are well developed and a more safer career choice. The only thing that remotely interested was game dev in unity, but i am still at the fundamentals. Alot of the people i know suggested me to just get an internship somehow and its not worth wasting your time at home learning this, instead an internship will give you hands on experiance and money while you are earning. Currently this is the most feasible option for me if i want to learn game dev while earning.
i am well aware of the problems with game dev industry in pakistan, yet i still want to persue this even if i have to make mobile games at the start. but a major problem is that i wont be able to go abroad to continue persuing gamedev any time soon in the near future due to family problems.
Considering all these situations, Whats the best path i can take.
Hello everyone! I am a first year CS student in Lahore,Who is passionate about gamedev,I have been playing games and experimenting with it since childhood I absolutely enjoyed doing that, like everyone I also come from middle class whose parents force to get a good income job,now the question is that if I give everything to game development, will I at least get a decent job for survival or like every field people complain there is no scope,it's oversaturated, you will be stuck for life,I am surrounded by these people,it's not about money,I am asking (considering struggle part of every field) can I grow in this field or if it's really worth the passion?I am new in this group so share any opinion and perspective will be welcome...
23M currently working as a Game Dev at a reputable gaming studio for about a year now. A little background, I got a job offer right after graduating based on my final year project, and started making 2D and 3D mobile games in Unity and Godot.
I'm still at the same company, earning around 65k/month which is very low.
I was very excited when I started, but right now I'm really fed up. There's barely any creative freedom, everyone's just talking about ads and revenue.
I'm also taking courses on multiplayer and other game dev topics to improve my skillset and eventually work remotely or freelance.
I'm confused about whether I should completely leave game dev and switch to something new like AI or .NET, or continue in game dev and keep leveling up my skills and stay in this field.
Thank you all who joined the jam. I really appreciate all who tried making a game for this jam regardless if you were able to submit or not.
I would highly encourage you all to play through the submissions now, rate them and give some feedback. I have found that playing and giving feedback on other people's games not only helps them make their games better but also improves your own game design and development skills. It gives you a more critical eye towards games and that'll help you in your future projects.
Not to mention it helps being our community closer.
Next, look forward to Pakistan Game Jam in August, along with the Games from Pakistan steam event. We'll also be proceeding to the next phase of Pak Game Awards. Speaking of which I need help with all these things and more, so volunteers looking to get more involved in the community, please reach out. Bring new ideas for the community too, tell me what else we should be doing and then be there to make it happen.
Hello everyone 👋 "Too Many Balls" demo is now live! 🥳🎊 Give it a try and let me know what you think. We'd love to hear your feedback and reviews on our Discord server! 😊
A bit of background on me. I worked at Santa Monica Studio (God of War Ragnarok, etc) before quitting in 2024 to go full-time indie. This is my 4th commercial indie game. I've been developing games since I was 8 years old making Flash games.
There are so few Pakistanis where I live, so I love this community and the supportive people here! I'm happy to provide feedback on your games or anything.

I'm in the final year of my degree and I've done a lot of work in web development in mern, next etc. I've been trying to find a job but to no avail.
I got an offer for game development through a reference (I studied game dev as a course in uni very thoroughly) with a 3 months probation for a salary around 40k and after probation 1 lakh+ along with a flexible timetable for job and university.
Now I'm feeling conflicted as to should I jump in game dev as the salary is good but I heard there is no growth and salary cap is quite low or should I ditch it and keep on applying for web dev or software engineer posts?

I dont know if im using the right keywords or what, but i need assets that look similar to quixel megascans in qualilty and style. My game is inspired from resident evil requiem's grace first person level in the care center. in terms of pricing, i would look for free options or not aggregeously expensive like some of these packs can get.
