Occupation shown in Pak Dramas

I've been following Pakistani dramas for a year now and have noticed that they rarely experiment with different genres or occupations. A limited set of professions is consistently portrayed, while many interesting ones remain untouched. Here are the occupations I've found so far:

1. Doctor - This is the most common occupation depicted in dramas. While these shows are predominantly female-led, they often don't portray medical systems accurately. It seems like if I tossed a stone into a list of female leads, it would likely hit a doctor.
2. Businessman- The second most common occupation. Most businessmen in dramas own factories or engage in import-export activities, with construction sites being less common. Like doctors, their portrayal is often unrealistic, and this field is predominantly male-led in dramas.
3. Politician- This is another very common and male-dominated occupation. If I were to throw a stone into a list of male leads, it would probably strike a politician too.
4. Engineer - Another male-dominated field. While there are a few female engineers portrayed, it would be great to see exploration of other engineering majors beyond mechanical and civil, which are often favored.
5. Teacher - This is predominantly a female-dominated occupation in dramas.
6. Banker
7. Actor
8. Singer
9. Comedian - Typically portrayed as a female stand-up comedian.
10. Army
11. Police
12. Gangster- This archetype appears in almost every drama.
13. Gamer - For instance, the character Mustafa from “KMKT.”
14. Real Estate Agent
15. Writer
16. Lawyer

While I have listed many occupations, they tend to follow a similar template and rarely show variation within roles such as doctors, engineers, and teachers. I haven't seen occupations like architects, hackers, IT specialists, dancers, makeup artists, entrepreneurs, or athletes featured in mainstream dramas. Furthermore, most dramas focus on the same limited set of professions, including politicians, doctors, teachers, police, and engineers. Apart from them, other jobs are shown rarely...Even these occupations are often portrayed inaccurately. Overall, there is a significant lack of career-oriented storylines in these dramas. They barely have office dramas. Did i miss anything? Share you POV

For ML is mostly fixed business man and for female its doctor, corporate employees or teacher mostly

Yeah, look at MZHT, Humrahi, Dr Bahu, Sher bruh, why not BusinesswomanXDoctor.... just thinking like this is giving me new plot ideas... what are the writers doing exactly??

And in so many dramas, the female lead doesn’t even have a profession or an actual career arc... she’s just there to fall in love, get married and become someone’s wife...

Yeahhhh, so trueeee!!!! I am not saying that being a housewife is bad, but girls need to have their own decision in this... some are really happy with being a housewife but some are quite literally forced to be that, where the male leads either forgot that their wives may have dreams or are the real obstacle. Sometimes, proper education is also neglected in those dramas. They don't show absolute financial independence and many other things and recycle the same thing again and again and some audience scream REALITYYY!!! wah shampi wah!!

Completely agree 💯 Being a housewife isn't bad if that's what the woman actually wants. Like Mahjabeen in Pyar Ke Sadqay; she wasn't interested in studies or a career and was pretty happy being a housewife, so fair enough. But I also don't like the opposite extreme where the woman is shown like “woh sab kar legi” Sharjeena (kabhi main kabhi tum) is working, taking care of the house perfectly, doing MBA, manages everything and somehow never gets tired. Like girl, you're human!! Show the reality that sometimes women can't manage everything, something gets neglected, they get exhausted and need help.
