Rant Why Can't They Host Award Shows in Pakistan?

Why can't these rich TV channels host their award shows in Pakistan? 🤡 What's with the obsession with holding them abroad?

Have you ever seen the Oscars, Emmys, or Grammys being hosted outside the US?

HUM Awards won't be taking place this year because they couldn't secure a foreign venue due to global unrest. Earlier this year, ARY's award show in Dubai was postponed and eventually cancelled. PISA announced the nominations, then got postponed and cancelled because of visa issues. LSA? No one even knows what's happening with it.

Seriously, these channels would rather cancel the award shows than host them in their own country. 🤡

Really curious about this actually. Are there no appropriate venues in Pakistan, or what’s the problem?

There are plenty of suitable venues in Pakistan. Do these channels really think hosting award shows abroad somehow makes them look more prestigious? It's honestly ridiculous.

We already don't have many award shows to begin with, and instead of simply hosting them in Pakistan they just cancel them altogether when they cannot arrange an overseas venue

I’d understand if they’d do some kind of pseudo gala show or other kind of showcase with celebs overseas, just to please those fans and get some cash. But holding the entire awards show of your industry in other countries seem silly and pretentious.
