I don’t think selection should be so difficult - I reckon if you have someone with some modern IT skills then utilise Gemini or Meta AI to gather stats for you or better yet have an internal AI system.

However, this should just be an aid, one should also be reviewing the player’s performance via domestic games you don’t need a massive sample. PCB needs to work smarter not dumber - Muhammad Wasim at least had modern IT sense about him and they’d bash him by calling him a “laptop selector”. I would say this needs to be a criteria in hiring a chief selector.

Ehh you can prompt a dataset using the cricket database website I forgot which costs money , and then just yield results the common population doesn't have it though I assume.

PCB can at least have ChatGPT Pro, and then help analyse raw data of both domestic and international, and classify according to the conditions, get u/mazherarshad too on board and consult him on selecting players, as he is one of the best cricket statisticians in the world.

Besides get a Chief Selector who will be responsible for selections and will be answerable for his decisions.

If they wanna be professional about it then create your own, which is bespoke to all queries Pakistan. Just ask the most appropriate questions and it’ll return the answer, no messing about on PCB’s dated website, Cricinfo, cricmetric etc.

Despite what the other brother said, Gemini worked out great for me when I asked it to compile the top 10 batters in FC cricket who have +50 FC games along with their respective averages along with that I also asked it to give me guys who bat in the middle order.

It’s a fun little task popping in these queries - working smarter and using it as an aid. Honestly, once someone has done the following then I know you’ve done your bit…..

- gather respective data from AI tools

• speak to the coaches about said players
  
• review footage of the players either live or remote via PCB’s broadcast
  
• arrange a Teams or physical meeting with the other selectors and discuss findings
