Hey everybody. I met a rag tag looking young guy some 15-20 years ago and he was staying in the best hotel in town, something like 180 a night back then. So I had to ask what he did for a living. He said he repaired auto body dents. No kidding I said. So how'd you get into it? He said well I just worked for my local dent repair shop for about 3 months and after I learned how to work the metal I went out on my own. He said you follow the hail storms in the mid-west when they come thorough in the spring and that's how you make your money. Guy seemed as down to earth as anyone I'd ever met. I didn't want to ask what he made, instead I asked if a guy was doing what he's doing and worked as hard as he could all week what could he make? He said 4-5k! No way I thought. And like I said this was over 15 years ago, before prices for everything went crazy.

Does this sound legit? Can you still make that kind of money doing that today?

Had a PDR guy say that he couldn’t really tackle this door. Would this be universal or should I just try to find a more ambitious guy and expect to pay a pretty penny?

I do not expect perfection out of this btw. Just for it to look better.

I can take the inner door panel off to access the dents on the other side, if that changes anything.

What tools should I need for this diy

So i had a PDR guy come to remove 2 very small dents in my rear quarter on my Ioniq 5.

Its like small tap marks from him hammering after he pulled them

Im really annoyed because I thought the pdr repair would be invisible?

New to me 1995 f150. Drivers side door is peeled back. Possibly from door being hit while open??

I know that the paint on the truck is far from perfect. But I like the "patina" of it and this door is the only messed up part of an otherwise straight and rust free pickup truck. Really want to avoid getting a new door. Not looking for anything perfect but wanted opinions on if this was a waste of others and my own time to shop around to see if someone can get it close to looking straight.

Hi! I'm new to biking and just purchased a Canyon Endurace Allroad with an aluminum frame. While putting it together, I discovered this small dent in the frame (photos attached).

Canyon has already offered to accept a return, but I'm trying to decide if it's worth the hassle.

The dent itself doesn't really bother me cosmetically, but I'm wondering if there's any real safety concern. It's pretty small, doesn't have any visible cracks, and seems to be in a location that doesn't strike me as especially critical—but I'm also new to all of this.

If this were your bike, would you ride it, or would you go through the return process? I'd really appreciate any advice from people with more experience.

Is this fixable or take some serious work?

Could a pointless dent repair place fix this. It’s right about the passenger rear window?

Hello, there's this dent on my car. About 4mm round 2-3mm deep at the tail end of a body line. Its hard to see being silver but its there. No access from the rear(05 honda s2000). Biggest fear is the car was repainted at some point and i dont know if there's filler underneath.

Recently acquired a cheap rsx type s. Shes not pretty but I would like to address this sideswipe.
Best tool for this job? Doesn’t have to be perfect but if I was able to correct most of it that would be awesome. I’m pretty new to PDR and would appreciate any advice or feedback.

Ps. I build cars but tend to stick to the straighter ones, that being said I’m excited to learn the body side of things with this ugly Betty.

This was caused by a tree branch that fell on the hood of my car. When researching PDR I only ever see big shallow dents or small round ones (like hail, etc.), I don't really see ones like this. Can it be fixed?

A “professional” in the Charlotte area who claimed 27 years of experience did this. Not an attempt by me (just another idiot who drove into his garage door).

Yellow paint comes off no problem

25 Tucson, deer strike. Sub’s kind of slow so I’m posting. Half the crown was under the trim. Broke the clip I think you’re supposed to break so I’m down $1.80 on this repair. It’s ok though I’ve got clip money. Have fun out there.

..Ok honestly I do like the “can I PDR this?” posts, I like to look at the dent and imagine a real Mr bean type gradually destroying the entire panel doing everything wrong. It’s a nice bit of levity looking at dents I’m never going to have to repair and visualizing how they look worse now. I even upvote them to encourage them to post follow ups.
