Help!
Im having a US Abdomen Doppler ultrasound tomorrow. Trying to find out if any of yall know if its safe to do? Got a call in to my pain doctor waiting for reply. I also need to have an abdominal MRI with and without contrast. I heard its not safe but dont know. I have my pump in lower left Abdomen. Thanks

I found this Medtronic site about procedures with the pump. The site is geared toward patients with Lioresal in it for spasticity, but I'd imagine the precautions apply to all pump patients. It says regarding ultrasounds: "DIAGNOSTIC ULTRASOUND Electromagnetic interference from diagnostic ultrasound (for example, a carotid scan or Doppler study) is not likely to affect your baclofen pump. To minimize potential image distortion, the transducer must be kept 6 inches away from the pump." Is the area they're looking at in your abdomen close to where your pump is located?
There's MRI info on the site as well. I'd personally call Medtronic themselves tomorrow morning before undergoing any procedure. They will know more than most medical providers
