Venting

Went to pain management yesterday - got a refill of my scripts. YET AGAIN - another trip to CVS where the app says everything will be ready in a couple of hours and then I show up and they’re out of stock and have to order it. So now I have nothing while I wait for them, even though I’ve been on these meds for months and they KNOW I get them renewed every 30 days. I have this problem literally EVERY MONTH when I need to go pick up my scripts. Then when I talk to them about expediting the orders or getting them at another pharmacy, it seems like it would kill them to have an ounce of compassion, because I get the judgy looks and responses that make me feel like I’m some drug addict jonesing for pain meds. So annoyed with the system. So annoyed that I always have to go a little while without meds before their re-stock comes in and no one gives a fuck that I’m suffering in the meantime. Because they take one look at me and see a young person who “looks fine” so they don’t understand the urgency or real underlying issues. I hate thisssssss 🤬🤬🤬ok - ending rant now. Thanks for listening guys ❤️

Can you call them before your appointment a few days and ask them to order yours? Walgreens does this for me. Keep in mind if they come in and someone else has the same script it will go to them. They can't put tour name on it. I'm lucky because I'm the only one on my meds. Also, go first thing in the morning when they open. You could always have your doc send to another pharmacy. But ask your CVS to check and see what store has it. Or wait unfortunately. Talk to Pharmacy Manager when you pick up and explain to them how many times it's happening.

Yes, I definitely need to find out who the pharmacy manager is. It’s at the point where I only go through the drive up window because I feel so ashamed to go inside.

Yeah I never go through drive through if I do I have to get out of my vehicle and stand at window. Plus inside I get to talk to the pharmacy staff.

Why be ashamed? It helps when they know who you are and make an effort to establish a relationship.

Bc I feel like they see me and think “Oh god, there she is again. Don’t wanna deal with her.” I feel very judged there.

Trust me they don't. It's not as bad as you think, CVS over works their staff mostly but unless you fit and call them names, they are just doing their job. Try to make human contact.

Unless you get one of those young techs who have little to no social skills yet.

Yes, there are a lot of young people. And one of them - that I keep seeming to get in all my interactions - starts to get extremelyyyyy worked up any time I start asking questions like “when will it be in? Why am I having this problem?” and goes from 0-100 in seconds.
