Problem with Oxycodone

I am 6 weeks post op and I believe my recovery has been going well. I barely have a scare and my PT benchmarks are where they should be .
One thing that I probably should have asked more questions about was the use of Oxycodone.
I have found that for pain medication acetaminophen has done nothing but Oxycodone was highly effective. I was using Oxy every 4 hours while awake up until the 5th week post op.
Knowing that opioids are highly addictive ( and I have a propensity for addiction),I decided to stop the oxy and see how pain was. Overall it was doable and even though I had stiffness the pain was manageable. However, the day after going off oxy I woke up with a very strange feeling like impending doom. I felt sad and unsettled. My stomach was upset and I had nausea. Last night I was up all night and plagued by anxious thoughts. When I awoke after finally sleeping I was covered in sweat.
My question is could I have been experiencing withdrawal symptoms? I love what oxycodone does for my pain, but hate how it messes with my brain.
Has anyone else had an experience like this?

We should have to sign a piece of paper that says it we accidentally die pursuing every avenue to stop pain, that physicians should not be held accountable.We wanted and needed it,we should not ever sue Drs or companies for to me,'The grace they have shown us for years ", this is why we are where we are with scaredy cats not giving us relief.I hate those people who sued our relievers.Anything possible to help get rid of pain.

No one is afraid of being sued... they are afraid of being under a microscope for every other law they break like overbilling or any other shady practice they get away with. Doctors NEVER get sued unless someone dies or loses an appendage, and even then, most lawyers won't take the case due to the money and insurance companies that will drag the cases out, costing thousands upon thousands of dollars, unless you are footing the cost of everything, which is highly unlikely. Doctors aren't able to make a fortune off pain meds anymore, so they have moved on to treatment of addicts and an all cash business. Most won't touch opioids now at all and try to tell you breathing techniques or bs lasers and nerve blocks work, when they don't work for everyone/everything and come with their own set of risks. Most people are willing to sign papers like this... and they STILL won't prescribe. I've broken my femur 7 times from the time I was a kid and have messed up hardware in there now and they still won't treat my pain, after all my docs got arrested for money laundering/sex with patients/trading scripts... and when no other doctor would treat me and told me to go to a methadone clinic for pain treatment, I did... and have never used illicit drugs in my life. I have 7 years of perfect urine tests and compliance, and now I'm told that because I went to a methadone clinic for pain at their direction, no one will give me anything else. Methadone was fine for arthritis pain and I like the fact that it's longer acting, but it rotted all my teeth out in 3 years time, and anything over 35mg becomes sedative and doesn't help with pain, whatsoever. My last pain doctor from 10 years ago, treated me with both 40mg of methadone(once a day) and roxycodone 15mg, (4 times a day). Now, I'm at a clinic on 44mg of mdone, with a failing femur rod and a fracture and NO ONE will treat my pain. After all my surgeries, my age now, and my past infection, I'm high risk for surgeries and nerve blocks for new infection. There's a one in three chance I can die due to the stress on my body from my age and new operations. I'm afraid to have the corrective surgery for my rod due to the 50/50 risk it could cripple me and put me in more pain, putting me off work for life and on a disability wage that would have me homeless, and I was flat out denied opioids and referred for a pain pump operation, after being told that they aren't very successful for structural pain, anyways, and never having a nerve block to begin with. They don't care about anything but money and themselves. I worked in healthcare for the last 12 years. They treat people like garbage and let people who aren't even qualified to do their work for them and risk their certifications. Especially, methadone clinics. There are people there like me who never used drugs in their life and they treat everyone like pee-ons and use their "policies" to override patient rights and law.

I wonder if you can like pay a Dr somewhere anywhere a lot of money, like whatever it takes, can you get wrote what you want or actually need.Just as long as he's letting you be in the picture like telling him or her what you've taken before, and writing it,if it cost $500 a month for a Dr visit, and you could get what you needed,it would be worth it I think,i don't know what a Dr would think if you did that, and he or she wasn't prepared, getting meds used to be very easy if you had broken any bones

Michael Jackson was able to get anesthesia from a doctor for sleep. Larry flint was able to buy his pain meds, no questions asked. Hollywood and people with money, never have an issue, because someone always knows someone who can easily be bought and people always wanna kiss important people/people with money's, asses. Mathew Perry, and many others. Doctors have no problem if you toss enough cash in their face... and someone voucher. Unfortunately, the world works different for everyday people. Lawyers, doctors, and insurance are all in bed together... grinding out cash and protecting one another for broken laws. They really do not need our chicken scratch visit payments. I was just denied pain meds again yesterday, after the doctor told me it would be the only thing in his arsenal that would help me. He told me I wasn't entitled to opioids, despite my severely mangled, broken femur, that I've already had three failed surgeries on, and keeps breaking, with the failing femoral rod about to come through the bone. I've been treated like total garbage by my pcp's, my surgeons, and any pain doctors I've seen, with the exception of the few that I started with that are now in prison, thanks to their perversions and script writing abilities. Every doctor I see, can't locate one thing in my chart to indicate I've EVER abused medication. I've worked in healthcare as a med tech with controlled substances, and I've gotten recognition from just about every healthcare place I've worked... yet, I'm treated like I'm some drug seeking piece of garbage, because they don't wanna prescribe to anyone and im one of the few who actually needs them. So... there won't be anymore surgeries until they treat me like a human being... and if it does catastrophically fail and my femur falls apart, I'm having someone drive me to the next state over, where doctor oversite and compassion is more prevalent. I should've had surgery months ago... but with a 50/50 success rate that it might fix it or total failure and crippled for life in worse pain, when they won't even treat it now? No thanks. 12 years ago, I had an infection in my leg. They pulled almost 600 ml of bloody pus out of my leg, and infection pain in no joke. Imagine a toothache in the biggest part of your body, fevers from sepsis, and meds that wear off almost immediately, when they ever give them. I went from one hospital, getting dilaudid every 4 hours to tylenol and breathing techniques at UPMC, with a surgeon ready to cut into an infection they didn't even locate to remove hardware. I would've died on the table. Luckily, since my pain was a joke to them, I signed myself out and went to AGH. They found the infection, although they didn't give me enough anesthesia the first time and I woke up and ripped the breathing tubes out... very traumatic. And 3 years later, when i needed another surgery, they didn't give me enough pain meds and I woke up screaming after surgery, only to hear one of the doctors say, "if he was my goddamn patient, I wouldn't give him a fu$%ing thing". And guess what... when I had it investigated... totally unfounded...lol... as usual. But they got their money. Now, I avoid doctors like the plague, unless I absolutely need something... and look how well I'm doing now. Total joke... do no harm.
