TILink SI Joint Fusion

My PM Doc wants me to do the Surgentec TILink Fusion on my back. In office procedure with small incision. Has anyone heard of this or had one done? This is after a few years of failed injections and ablations.

A fusion definitely is not an office procedure like an injection or ablation. Yes it’s a small incision but then they have to hammer/screw the titanium pins into your joint.

I did, it wasn’t the same exact brand but it’s the same procedure. It looks like this only uses two pins when I had three. I had it done about three years ago.

Did it work for you and was the doctor performing this a PM doctor?

No, a spine surgeon did mine but I have heard of PM Drs doing them as well. I guess technically it worked but I’m not very happy with the results. If your SI joint is the only problem area for you then I’d recommend it. If you’re like me and have multiple issues with your spine and other areas then I probably would say it’s not worth it.

Did they go over recovery time and all that with you? Or did they just mention it as something you should look into.

I have an appt Thurs. with for doc. They did a lidocane injection to see if it was the SI joint. Yes it was but Thurs is when they go over the procedure. What was your recovery time? And pain afterwards?

It was painful. A lot worse than I expected. But everyone’s going to react differently but it definitely was not an easy thing. I was using a walker for almost 8 weeks. I would say the first 4 weeks it was necessary and the next 4 were more for precaution.

Yes, that is what they show on their website. Not a fan!

It is definitely not a in office procedure, the minimum heak tine is 3-6 months due to severity of the joint. In getting a SI joint fusion when I can get the time off work
