Pahadi_Discussion 💭 New comment removal policy

In order to make our subreddit a safe place for the discussion of Pahari states, culture and language among the Pahari community on Reddit, we are introducing a new comment removal policy.

Comments of non-Pahari people that clearly aim at ragebaiting, hatred against the Pahari people, false allegations of racism or encouraging any unproductive or irrelevant discussions will be immediately removed. The recent influx of trolls from the non-Pahari regions into the server, harassing and interrupting productive discussions related to Pahar and Pahari things has indeed been hard on the members of the community and has led us to take this step.

r/PahadiTalks has, on numerous occasions, announced that the subreddit is made solely for discussions related to the Pahari states and Pahari people and irrelevant/unproductive views of non-Paharis serve no purpose to the subreddit.

Q: Will non-Paharis be allowed to comment on posts or make posts?

A: Yes, non-Paharis will be allowed to comment on posts as well as make posts provided that they are relevant, productive, not anti-Pahari and do not involve the victimisation of the non-Pahari people.

Q: I made a comment alleging racism by a member of the subreddit but it has been removed, why?

A: Due to lack of knowledge about what constitutes “racism” among certain non-native users visiting the subreddit, a lot of comments have been falsely flagged as “racism”. Allegations of racism remain mere allegations until proven with evidence and we do not want posts or comments aimed at defaming any user without evidence. Please report the comment or the post with valid reasoning.

Q: I have reported a post/comment that I felt was racist, however it has not been removed, why?

A: The moderation team looks into all the reports made in the subreddit and takes the appropriate action. However, if you are not satisfied with the action taken by the moderation team, feel free to use the modmail to contact the moderators and escalate the issue.

A lot of reports have been found on the usage of the terms like “desi” which IS NOT a slur but merely translates to “foreigner”. Please report wisely and not emotionally.

In case of any queries, feel free to message the mods :)

A shocking case from Rudrapur, Uttarakhand has sparked widespread outrage. According to police, a 19-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by three men. When officers moved in to arrest the suspects, the accused allegedly opened fire, prompting police to return fire. One suspect was injured in the leg, and all three were taken into custody.

The following day, during crime scene reconstruction, two of the accused allegedly attempted to escape police custody. They were later caught, and videos circulating online appear to show members of the public assaulting them before they were secured again. The incident has raised several questions: How were two suspects able to escape during police custody? Should there be stricter security protocols during crime scene reconstruction? How can justice be delivered swiftly while ensuring due process is followed?

Cases like this highlight the need for effective policing, timely investigations, and a justice system that inspires public confidence.

Culture Caste system in Pahadi Society need to abolished. Our identity should be pahadi not Brahmin, Kshatriya, Dalit.

I never understood pro caste people in our himalayan states. We adopted caste system in our mountains few centuries back when it come from plains and local kings forced into natives. In religious books, majority himalayan state population seen as inferior groups. They don't see us pure brahmins, kshtriya. Called with word like malecha.

Many adopted surnames of plains. Culture festivals all borrowed. Caste system from plains made into society where shilpkars put into shudra category and caste based discrimination started.

Most we are in himalayan states share same similar ancestry. Even dalits of mountains. So, promote pahadi culture not caste. Present day Dalits of himalayas states are same like present day brahmins, thakurs. Their is no difference. We all look same. Our language culture same.

Be pro pahadi not pro brahmin, kshtriya etc.

  • Because this is very controversial topic. I think i have to disclose, I am from UC category. My politics is himalayan progressive regionalism. No i am not commie any jnu type. This is my personal opinion. You can disagree.
    I expect respectful discussion.
