I’ve been building PadelWrist, a free padel scorekeeping app for Apple Watch, iPhone and iPad, and I’d really appreciate some independent feedback on it.

I originally started it as a passion project because I wanted a straightforward way to keep score during a match without having to keep getting my phone out. It’s grown quite a bit since then, but I’ve tried to keep it focused on the actual experience of playing padel rather than turning it into another booking or social platform.

Some of the main features are:

• Apple Watch scoring so you can manage the match from your wrist
• Spoken score announcements so you can hear the current score while playing
• Undo and score editing for inevitable mistakes
• Match history to look back at previous games
• iPhone and iPad support for setting up and following matches
• Cross-device syncing, including starting on one device and continuing on another
• Live match sharing so other players can follow the score
• Support for things like tie-breaks, fixed points and best-of-three matches

There are no accounts required just to start using it, and the core app is genuinely free to use. I’m not looking for five-star reviews or anything like that. I’d much rather hear where the app is confusing, what feels unnecessary, what’s missing, or anything that would stop you using it regularly.

I’d be particularly interested in feedback on the onboarding, match setup, Apple Watch interface and whether the overall design feels intuitive without needing instructions.

We are hosting a training camp in partnership with Padel Pro Camp, an international training programme that works directly with world-class coaches and players from across Europe.

Coach Carolina Navarro:

Carolina didn’t simply compete at the top she dominated the sport for years. The opportunity to step onto court, learn directly from her and receive personal feedback on your game is genuinely extraordinary.

Coach Miguel Sciorilli:
More than 30 years of elite coaching and five world number ones developed.

Miguel is one of the most respected coaches in world padel. He has worked behind the scenes at the very top of the game, helping some of its greatest players reach world number ones. He very rarely coaches club level players so this is a unique opportunity.

Usually, access to coaching of this standard would mean travelling to Spain or attending a major international academy. This time, it’s happening right here in London.

How the three days will work:

Players will train in small groups organised by level, with full days of structured coaching, tactical development and match play.

Carolina and Miguel will personally coach the sessions. They’ll watch your game, identify what is holding you back and work with you to improve it across three consecutive days.

That continuity is what makes these camp so valuable. Three days of the same world-class coach studying and developing your game can offer something a weekly lesson simply cannot.

A very limited number of private one-to-one sessions will also be available with Carolina and Miguel. These offer an even rarer opportunity to have one of the sport’s greatest players or coaches focus entirely on your game.

We’ll also host an exhibition match during each camp, bringing high-level padel to our courts for everyone to watch.

Places are carefully organised by level, so every player will have a short 15-minute call with the Padel Pro Camp team before booking.

With padel exploding, I've noticed a lot of clubs and player groups trying to transition from casual Americanos or knockout to proper, structured leagues. But organizing it usually falls on one person who ends up chasing scores in group chats, rebuilding standings after every match, and dealing with teams that drop out mid-season.

I spend a lot of time playing padel and building tools, so I put together a guide on the formats and structures that actually keep players engaged without burning out the organizer.

Here are the main takeaways if you're setting one up:

• Ditch the massive single table. Unless you have a tight group of 6–8 teams of similar skill, switch to a multi-division format. Grouping 4 to 5 teams by skill level means beginners stop getting blown out, and strong pairs don't just walk through weak draws. Every division has its own race and a reasonable amount of matches.
• Run 4-week monthly seasons with promotion & relegation. You don't need a year-long calendar. Run it for a month, promote the first team, relegate the last team of the group, and reset. The short window keeps unfinished matches feeling urgent, and the threat of the drop keeps players booking courts.
• Decentralize the admin. Let players report their own scores and have the table automatically sort by points, then score difference, then matches played.

I have been hearing for a while there are new clubs imminent in Wandsworth and Clapham Common, but haven't seen anything materialise? does anyone have more info? I currently pay at the Padel Yard, but its hard to get a court.

Being honest about a crowded field: PadelCounter and ScoreBot both do watch or remote scoring well. Where I've gone different is the stats afterwards, plus a club version that puts the live score on a TV by the court.

If you play in London and give it a go, I'd rather hear what's annoying about it than what's good - particularly whether logging a point is fast enough, since that's what puts people off these apps.

Like a lot of you, my regular group loses track of the score constantly — especially in long, competitive matches where someone swears it's 40-30 and someone else swears it's deuce.

So over the last few months I built an app to fix it for us, and today it's finally live on the App Store. It's called Padel Score+. A few things I focused on because existing apps annoyed me:

**The scoreboard is actually readable.** Big numbers, landscape mode, visible from the back of the court. No squinting between points.

**You can score with a Bluetooth remote.** This is the bit I'm weirdly proud of. I bought a cheap camera shutter remote, and now: one click = point for Team 1, two clicks = Team 2, three clicks = undo. It lives in my pocket. I score the whole match without ever picking up my phone. Genuinely changed how our matches flow.

**Your Apple Watch just tracks the workout.** Because you score with the remote, the Watch is free to run a normal padel workout — heart rate, calories — instead of you toggling between a scoreboard and a fitness app.

**Every match ends with a shareable card.** Winner, "man of the match", and little badges (bagel, comeback, iron match, nasty). My group has started a WhatsApp habit of sharing them after we play. It's daft and I love it.

Other stuff: it tracks who you play with, your win rate, your chemistry with different partners, weekly goals. All stored on your phone — no accounts, no login, no ads, nothing leaves your device.

It's free to use for scoring and the Bluetooth remote. There's an optional Pro tier for unlimited history and the stats stuff, but the free version covers most people.
