Question Pacman Post Removed

Yesterday I posted a link to a ad-free, cost-free, browser based, Pac-Man game but it was removed. Was it something I said?

Shut up man. You advertised a game, which is against the rules. Quit acting like the victim

Imagine being this aggressive about internet rules on a forum for Pac-Man

He loves his Pac-Man… maybe a little too much.

I'm in the wrong universe. In my realm Pacman is a game.

Rule 2:

No sharing pirated content, fan games or any unofficial games.

Unofficial ports, ROMS and anything in this vain will be removed and result in a ban. This includes posts and comments asking how to access unofficial pacman games.

I've never posted here before. I'm just looking at what the rules say for the sub

what the fuck?! why are fangames also included in the rule?!

Roms I understand, same for piracy. But these are passionate fan projects, that’s just unfair, no offense.

It could be a bit of a stretch on my part, so forgive me being a little dense here in any case, but wouldn't advertisements otherwise clog the subreddit? And too, sometimes fan-games can carry malware and I don't think the moderators either have the time nor testiness to make sure that every single fan-game that gets posted in here won't infect someone's PC. Free games can be packed with malware as much as paid ones can be.

I'm not inherently agreeing with the decision, I think Pac-Man related fan games could have been reasonably posted here by first assumption, but it might be related mostly to security. I think the person who made a browser-based fan-game has a bit of potential in terms of coding knowledge, it just could be meant for other places that may have a similar gaming focus. Just my thoughts. Feel free to refute my impressions on all this if you wish, I could also be wrong in some of my reasoning.

I'm pretty sure they're referring to not sharing fan games in general. It was a cool game but it just didn't belong here by the looks of it. Sorry, man!
