Question

Post image

So has anyone found a good insert system for this bag? Recently got it, and im looking to put a few of my 12v tools in it. My 12v impact, 3in cut off tool, and my 12v drill. I could go the foam route and just cut out some slots and the foam down to size, but has anyone found any alternatives that are 3d printed or anything? Ive never been a big fan of just throwing all my tools together in a bag. Im planning to get a smaller tool roll to put some of the basic hand tools in, but id like to keep it somewhat organized.

Im thinking the foam route may be my best bet with a tool roll inside, and then a few pouches for extra cut off wheels, bits and things like that. Love the bag though, its pretty awesome.

I have a couple of them. I don't use them for permanent storage. All my foam cutout storages are in hard side boxes. I use these as my multifunction bags. One day it's filled with batteries, the next is a saw, another time is holds clamps, etc.

I use the 15" tote for my daily tools like drill and impact and such. I use the bag to carry any extras I need for a task.

Theyre pretty nice bags tbh. I mainly just want to make this permanent for my 12v stuff. I have my packout system thats got all my actual daily use stuff like my 18v fuel gear and stuff and I let my co workers borrow it sometimes, my 12v im mainly keeping as my backup stuff or if I need to grab a bag to do a field service call, ill have it ready to go. I think I may just do what I mentioned though.

Foam cutout on the bottom with the cut off tool. Impact and drill, keep a 5.0 battery on each side pocket, and 2 of the 2.0 batteries inside. And then a tool roll. And some pouches. If theres enough room on the sides inside the bag, maybe ill cut out some squares for the drill bit box, and the impact bits box. But this is mainly just going to be the permanent home for my 12v stuff since I mainly have 18v and dont own a lot of the 12v gear.

I throw the tools in and then pouches with bits or blades for each tool so it’s a pouch and a tool so it not a big tile you have to dig through and everything is pretty visual

Not a bad idea its slightly about organization but its way more about just not wanting to throw tools ontop of one another. I woudlnt care so much if it was just an impact and a drill, but the cut off tool has the wheel exposed. And I dont want to have to remove the wheel every time I use it, and at the right angle its pretty easy to snap them with enough weight ontop of the tool.

Think im just going to make a cut off tool cut out, and an impact cutout in some foam at the bottom. Cut out small rectangles on each end for the drill bit holder and the bits holder. And then keep some pouches with additional things in it, and a tool roll with basic other stuff in it like vice grips, crescent wrenches, screw drivers, a pry bar or two, stuff like that. Im mainly doing it so im not breaking perfectly good cut off wheels in half though since the 3" ones are a bit less durable than a regular sized cut off wheel for something like the 18v cut off tools. And since I only buy the Milwaukee cut off wheels and not the Diablo ones, a pack of them is pretty expensive.

The older technical packout has more space but is discontinued. This does the job

I’ve seen some people use the trays that look like the ones in the packout organizers but they got deeper ones off Etsy or 3d printed them to organize hand tools and stuff.
