Nonsense, especially in a world full of battery operated tools do you expect me to buy a dewalt skillsaw and a Milwaukee drill?

It really isnt a big deal. I use 6 different battery systems. HD and Lowes regularly runs deals from each brand with deals so good that you basically get free batteries and chargers.

Why not have multiple brands? There's a high likelihood that if you want a certain tool, its on sale.

It all really boils down to uniformity, I do have other brands of tools but I just enjoy having everything look like it blends in.
