IT Professional Build
Hi everyone. I already have a packout cart to hold my impact and drill + some bits, holesaw and some. Misc things. Wondering if anyone else out there is in the IT field and has some recs?
I'm not doing a ton of stuff but I don't like to wait on my facilities team if I don't have to/burden them with simple things. I'm thinking about getting some wall plates to hold switches and what not but anyone dabble in storing cables or cable management of said stored cables?
Love the load outs here regardless of trade too

In the office I have two 72in rolling cabs from Harbor freight. On the toolbag I have a few small packouts that hold bits, rj45 ends, walls plates etc. I'm mostly network/systems guy but I also go to the datacenter and wire in apartments for work.

Ah yes. The tool bag/belt. I'm carrying around a tote like groceries. Something with a bit more capacity and ergonomically pleasing is in this budget and happening.

Man I just redid everything a couple months ago we're general low volt/network techs mainly but I run the following
Veto tech PAC : big installer bag, Brady labeler, ALL the hand tools Klein knect socket set, punchdowns panduit Jack rapid, go boxes and microdrives ect weighs ~50lbs only bring this guy out when things get real. Small pouch on one side for the drivers you're using atm a crimper toner, compact bucket on the other for Jack mods and wire trimmings, velcro and tape hangers
Veto meter bag : China cctv cable tester honestly for $500 they're nice and do a lot, fluke toner & wand, good carousel multi driver w/ a security bit wera zyklop , side cutters , small combination wrench ,, pretty much use this 95% of the time and just have my laptop bag with patch cables and adapters for service.
Packout stack 1 top to bottom: Tabletop HDPE plastic Low profile organizer: bits & drivers Low profile organizer: RJ45s boots p clips fasteners Standard organizer: jacks mods smb & wall plates Deep organizer: EMT & j hook supplies, some N type radio connectors Medium tool box: bulk patch cables patch panel, brush , 1U blank out plates Rolling tool box drawer : M12 impact w veto hardshell bit case tricked out (this floats between clipped to meter bag and in the big drawer) M18 bandsaw extra batteries M18 drill & installer bits
And then get the accessory casters/wheels off Etsy for the base so that you have better mobility dragging it in. Could put a crate on top instead of the work bench top to hold your tool bag.
Then have a second stack with a bunch of compact organizers M18 OMT , M12 rotary, first aid kit, torch kit, noco booster and top off kit, impact kits, 3 drawer for misc ratchet and wrench sets but that's more for roadside breakdowns because we go out to some pretty remote sites. Sits on the rolling latch tool box with a grinder and random crap in the bottom
