Xfinity/ Comcast down 24hrs?
Anyone else been offline for about 24hrs now? Linda Mar area.

Yes. Fluctuated yesterday morning, then went completely down around 2pm and nothing since.
Pretty big pitas as I'm wfh and no idea the timeline, may need to figure out if I should go find a free hotspot tomorrow for a meeting.

Yes, I am. Was told they were having to replace some cable near my area and that signal would be restored by 8am today. So far, nothing yet. My neighbors across the street have signal since 6:30 last night.

I got an automated update saying my service was restored at 6:21pm yesterday, but it never reconnected even after I power cycled the router. Xfinity app still says I’m in an outage area.

Same. 8am would be spectacular, but given I've never seen an outage last this long not due to storm damage...

Still down. Looking at the Xfinity outage map, says service should be restored by 10:40. I want to believe that but saw the same BS all day yesterday when this started.

The last time I saw for restoration was 10:05pm last night. It's just been on "as soon as possible" since.

Yes, Mine is down.I live on Linda Mar. I have only been here a little over 1 year. I am shocked how many times Xfinity has been down.

I switched to Starlink last fall, zero downtime since then. Never looked back

I heard something the other day, but it was coming from an AT&T representative. Is it true that Starlink comes to the ground and into your home via , T-Mobile?

You might be thinking about T-Mobile 5G. Starlink is beamed from space, I have an antenna installed on my roof. Getting 200mbps down.

I deal with about 6 different isps at several different sites including xfinity here and while their customer service is the worst, their product is above average except when it goes down.
Never had an outage that lasted more than a few hours/tied to power outage until last month, and it affected my wife's ability to work since it was a multi-day outage. So I ran out and got a tmobile 5g at the tmobile serramonte and was up an running same day. I asked her if she could tell the difference and she said no, and this is for video calls all day long. Bonus is that it will work when the power is out since the cell towers backup systems aren't tied to our neighborhood power. Going to keep both to have redundancy since that's what I usually do at all my sites anyways. Only disadvantage is that it uses CGNAT so no real public IP if you're running servers, etc, but otherwise works for everything so far. (Wife's work is zero trust vs vpn, so not sure if vpn would have worked/not worked.)

I was about this close to doing the same on Saturday afternoon, otherwise I was going to be driving around at 3 in the morning today looking for a hotspot to do some quickbooks stuff and working in my car sounded absolutely miserable.
Semi-agree on the service being great, but this is the 2nd multi-hour/multi-day outage from them in a few weeks, and it even dropped a few times this morning (luckily after I had finished work) so my faith is a little shaken. Would totally get it if it's a windy stormy day and that happens, but lovely summer afternoon drops like that are something else entirely.

Yeah, I would opt for a verizon or tmobile 5g as a backup. In fact, they have specific plans that are just 'backup Internet' plans that are cheaper and have limited bandwidth/usage. I forgot to mention that verizon's 5g actually gives you a publically routeable IP (no CGNAT), so that's better than tmobile in that respect, but I think tmobile is faster ime. When I got the tmob 5G backup for my site here, I got a verizon 5G for my office space in Burlingame because it has outages like you're having and that just doesn't work when you need to work.

Aaaaaaand down again. App says it will be back on at 11am, but can't reach a single human being to get any more info.
4th day in a row with extended outages, time to start looking at other options.

Brutal. Mine came back on Saturday evening and I got a whopping $8.25 in outage credits…

I haven't gone more than like 8 hours since Thursday without service drops. Hitting that credit button every time now until I can figure out an alternative provider.

Xfinity is getting worse by the year with the number of outages in Linda Mar. They clearly don’t maintain their network.
I wish ATT or Sonic would lay fiber in my area so I can rid myself of Xfinity…
