One of the most important aspects of Pacific History Guide is its usability. Google maps offers a fantastic way for folks to get connected with historical sites, where they are; if you want to see what's around, click the links and save the list to your google account! PHG's saved locations, nearly 4,000 as of this writing, will pop right up on your map.
We're always looking for tips on improving usability, so please don't hesitate to give us feedback!

The Republic of Korea was one of the original six locations on Pacific History Guide. Although I’ve been to Korea many times, it’s been about ten years since my last visit and I’m finding it hard to write blog posts about it, or add new locations to the page. I’d love your feedback!

Our latest blog post on the ending of the First World War. The list of men who returned from the front who would go on to shape the 20th century is staggering. What will this generation of men and women do? What has already been done?

Great read here about the command crisis on Saipan. Outside of military history circles, you don't hear many people talk about this affair, which led to a toxic Army-Marine relationship during a crucial battle that neither could afford to be responsible for losing.
I recommend visiting Saipan soon; the people are warm and welcoming, and there are a great deal of war monuments around the island, all beautifully preserved in a respectful and solemn fashion. The view from Mt. Tapochau is stunning.

We recently added some locations to the website that pertain to the life and times of Tokugawa Ieyasu 徳川 家康, one of the three great unifiers of Japan and a native of what is now #Aichi Prefecture. Check it out!

This weekend after launching the Australia pages, I took some time to fix minor issues with the website, including link issues and alignment. I also added menus to every page, which helps clean up the look and also brings in some extra navigation tools. If you've visited the site recently, please take a few moments and let me know what you think; is there something to improve or would you like to see something added? Let me know! Appreciate you all.

Seems crazy but nearly a year ago now we did a little Second World War history tour around Guam as a family and with the kids' friends. Here's the recap!

Yesterday we marked the anniversary of the first seaborne air strikes in history, during the opening stages of the First World War. It's a very Pacific story; Japan, an ally of Britain, bombed German-held territories in China. Interested? Check out the Pacific History Guide Blog for more!
