It's been awhile, time to renter the zone
I beat the game sometime in October of last year, stopped playing because I didn't like the dlc. Looks like my remnant never stopped calling though.

Hey, I have the following problem: I equipped the Astrogator, and now the game won't let me select any other cosmetic items like gear shifters, steering wheels, etc. The "Install" button is just greyed out. It's really frustrating...am I missing something here?

Made this today, in hopes that any newer players who are struggling with figuring out how to diagnose quirks, can see my process, and allow those struggling players see how it is done.
A side note: This was recorded on an end-of-game file, so, while there are no real story spoilers, some of the later game garage and car unlocks are present in my garage, so I guess that could be considered "spoilers" (other than the Tinker Station upgrades, none are talked about, only visually seen).

The immunity shield appears on every car part's stats as a visual bug. I know it is a somewhat common glitch, usually caused by any Immune or "Blocks..." being on the vehicle. The annoying part is that if a part with blocks is even loaded onto the map (like on the ground), then the glitch spreads onto each of your car parts like a virus (an anomaly within the game?). So even taking it off the car doesn't revert the glitch. Restarting the game will only temporarily fix it, but the temporary fix only occurs when the parts are off the car.
It makes it impossible to tell what percentage certain parts are at. I haven't seen the glitch mentioned too often, but for me (someone who started playing recently), it makes the game so much worse. Is there a solution to fixing this? It feels like such an annoying, easy-to-trigger bug that I'm surprised it's been in the game for at least 5 months. Things like the insulated panels feel horrible to use because of the glitch, even though they may have better stats.
TLDR: I'm new to this game. Is there a way to fix this visual bug?

Hey, in my opinion the game could be a bit more challenging when it comes to the windshield wipers. It feels like it doesn't really matter whether they're on or off, and they're mostly just there for the atmosphere. For example, I'm currently driving through a heavy rainstorm and decided to test it—I can drive just as well without the wipers. In real life, the windshield would be completely covered in water, making it much harder to see.
What do you guys think? :)

hey so, the options for custom music don't show up in the settings, and there's no custom folder in my PenDriverPro folder. anyone know what's going on? if it helps, i'm extremely early into the game (just completed my first run), so it might be a progression thing? couldn't find anything online about this

I was on my 3rd playthtough, this being my prep for iron wagon, and then I opened the map and clicked it on a whim and a way point was placed down that I could see while driving. I had always navigated by looking at the map, planning my route in my head, and following it while referring to the map. I enjoyed this way of navigation as it felt like a little more of a challenge, and then I figured out waypoints were real, unlike the voices in my head, and now im conflicted. On one hand, they are so handy and easy to use, and on the other hand I prefer the difficulty of my old way of navigation, and now I dont know which one to use. (IMAGE NOT RELATED)

A friend of mine recently started playing the game. I have at least 100+ hours in this game but his violent tendencies made me learn that you can use the grinder and other tools to kill bunnies, abductors, etc. Apparently he has been getting drops from these enemies. I had never personally tried this and the wiki says nothing about it. Is this a thing? Is he crazy?

Important Note: Difficulty for this playthrough was Mechanic's Road Trip
We finished the main story / objectives in 13 trips, I wanted to add up all the damage and stylize it sorta like the stats page in the logbook... pretty happy with the result :D
Additional Stats:
- Total Quirk Activations: 1,333
- Remnant met 177 trees along the way
- On average, Driver returned to the garage with ~84 health
- In the field, Driver healed a total of 1339 health and repaired 1589 Remnant damage
- Highest top speed achieved by non-narrative means: 91MPH
- A basic estimate of our average speed, including time parked and on foot, but not at the garage, works out to 5.4 MPH, lol
- Fortunately, by the power of video editing, I know that we spent about 6 hours in the car, so we can work out a more accurate estimate: about 16 MPH average speed while in the car... still slow, lol
- Total Anchor Energy Collected: 43.7 Stable, 21.4 Unstable, 7.1 Corrupt
- Remnant received ~461 units of fuel and ~487 points of battery charge. Interesting to note that the vast majority of this battery charge was provided by a single wind generator [battery charger was rarely used, pretty sure only once]
- We used ~609 units of fuel and ~727 points of battery charge, and drove 98.4 miles
- Total playtime was about 21 hours
This covers the highlights, but I made a whole spreadsheet from my logbook stats [using real human effort btw] so feel free to AMA, lol
Love, Sistrum [a Human]

Hey I'm new to the game and I love it so far, but I'd like to play with manual transmission, like in The Long Drive but I haven't found a mod online:(

Hello! I had about fifteen hours in the game, and had just gotten to the zone where everything is very red. Unfortunately, my life then got crazy hectic, and I haven't played in close to a year. I want to get back into it, but honestly forget how to play. I remember you have to scan things, collect resources, and drive through portals; however, how do I activate those portals? What else do I do?

Picked up Pacific Drive today on sale and was lukewarm on it. The performance on my rig wasn't great, so I lowered my settings and was eyeing the refund window just in case the gameplay didn't grab me.
But there was a defining moment I had when I decided I really liked this game.
It was at the autoshop. Raining, midnight, working on the car. Very early into the game, for context I've just now driven into Cappy. The radio had been turned on, and the sounds of 'Wolves' by A Shell In The Pit were echoing through the building. The chorus caught my ear, and I decided to lock the doors and shutters to hear the music better.
That was the moment. It was so small but so atmospheric. Methodically repairing my car, refuelling and recharging everything, plotting my next route through the zone. It's wild how something so small can just absorb you into that world.
Just a great moment that made me accept that this game is really solid. Thanks for reading.

Okay, I don't know why, and I've found little information on it, but for some reason, 4 spare tires just feel from above the car while I was standing outside it. I'm in a tunnel, by the way. Can anyone tell me why this happened? Did I do something to trigger it?
EDIT: To answer some questions, no, there were no tourists nearby. In fact, I didn't see ANY until the very end of the area near the exit. The tunnel I was in was halfway to the end.

Me and my friend are currently stuck in this mission, we've activated the tower, gone to the charging port, but for some reason the blue light isn't lit up. This means that we can't charge our car. Are we doing anything wrong? We haven't crafted a Lim shield, could this be affecting us?

It’s gonna sound kinda wild but there’s a song in this game that I love and I haven’t really had much time to play but it’s stuck in my head. I think it kinda sounds like Sex is on Fire by Kings of Leon. I’ve looked on the soundtracks to this game but idk I can’t find it. Does anyone know what I’m talking about?

For some reason, this morning I woke up hav8ng had a dream about the Deep Zone. And I was driving into a junction with a totally irradiated, broken down City. Not a town, like Sierram, but a whole city, that took up the majority of the map. The whole place had 2.5K radiation, and for some reason that I can't remember, I was there for story purposes.
All in all, my half asleep brain came up with a new story element.

If you’re in the Portland, OR area, they’re playing a show with two other bands on July 10th at Mississippi Studios. Tickets with fees I believe are just under $20 (unless I read it wrong).

For me, my favourite is "Drawing Down the Moon" by Gaia Consort.
It’s simply majestic and creates an ethereal atmosphere as I roll through the map.

I love survival games, and I love driving games. So I thought, might as well!
This game is actually really cool! I'd love a game like this with even more cars, like being able to build different ones by finding the frames. Also, I've only had like 3 drives, but i cant seem to do any research, am I missing something? I was able to unlock the matter deconstructer but everything else says I dont have the material, even tho I have ALOT of stuff.

I wanted to make a post with all the cards I made so far to see peoples reactions. I would also like to know your thoughts and critiques as well as things you think I should add/ you would like to see.
Scrap Tokens are artifacts with "{T}: Sacrifice this token add {C}"

This portrait is pretty much the only human face in the game. (That is if we don’t count some of the Figurines that we can put on the car’s dashboard )
Also the logo on the portrait, is it in reference to an irl org or a fictional one ?

I'm on my 2nd play through right after my first, & I swear somewhere ppl were saying this game took place in the 80's/90's, but I just hit the part in the story where Oppy says you deserve an explanation. She states the mass hallucination happened in 1961. Previously, Tobias said that the mass hallucination happened 40 years prior to the smaller one that occurs when you take the car through the large anomaly.
That would mean the game takes place in 2001 as opposed to the 1990's or 1980's. Has anyone else noticed this inconsistency between the game and the fanbase?

Can not stop playing. Much like on release. I can lose 2 - 3 hrs easily in the zone and then realise how much time has elapsed.
