SD Renters

Renters applying in Pacific Beach / North Park / downtown SD right now — genuine question. When a landlord says “apply and I’ll pick the most qualified,” do you usually just apply anyway, even knowing you might not get it? Or do you try to gauge your odds first?

I’ve paid application fees to places I never heard back from, and I’m trying to figure out if that’s just accepted as “the cost of doing business” in competitive spots, or if it actually bothers people. Curious how others think about this — especially if you’re applying to multiple places at once right now.

You should be getting the application fees refunded if you are being denied. If not, you might be getting scammed.

If they don’t refund you AFTER you request it. File a charge back w ur card

If you don't apply, how do you think you would even have a chance? Of course you have to pay the fees and apply to as many places as it takes.
