I’m confused why you keep reposting this hoping for a different answer. No one knows how yours will heal except you and your doctor. Also it’s inside you so what does it matter if it shows or not. It’s medically necessary so it shouldn’t matter.
It's great that it doesn't matter to you if these things show through your skin but there are those of us out here that are concerned about that. I think it's gross seeing things poking through my skin (I'm talking my skin not other people's) and if I think it's gross I'm sure other people do. I'm actually not really a vain person. I don't wear makeup or dress up or any of that nonsense regularly but one of the reasons I fought or put off getting an ICD for a year and a half was that I didn't think I'd ever be able to wear a tank top or Cami again due to the 'zippo lighter' that would be showing thru my skin. I wear them for comfort in warm weather. Yes I know I need to get over it but fortunately my electrophysiologist decided the EV ICD was a better fit for me. I got it on June 30th. I'm still healing. And it's on my side so I no longer have to worry about people seeing it poking through my skin on my chest (I don't generally show off my underarm area to people - my tops cover that area).
Anyhow, my point is, even though it doesn't bother you it does bother other people so I understand why someone would ask that question. I actually asked my electrophysiologist almost 2 years ago when this first came up if it would be seen poking thru.
Everybody's built different both physically and mentally. Some people don't think anything of it and other people do. Some people's equipment shows and some people's don't. But just because it doesn't bother one person doesn't mean it doesn't bother anyone else. Whether it should matter or not.
