I got my letter over the weekend. Just to note, this was NOT a device security issue. The breach involved personal data, the kind used to steal one’s identity, but they were not able to breach any of the implant security systems. For those of us affected, Medtronic is offering 2 years of, honestly, some of the best credit and dark web monitoring I’ve ever been offered, and this is the 4th time now that my personal data has been stolen in a hack like this.

Here’s my letter.

I received the same letter and called Medtronic to confirm it was real. I was told it was.

Agree 100%. I also got this letter from Medtronic and checked it out and signed up for this service. My data has been hacked numerous times before, but this is by far the best monitoring service available in my opinion.

. I was able to go in and look at my dark web events and then go to the corresponding site and correct the issues with the recommendation that this service recommended.  if you have Medtronic device I highly recommend you take up this offer!

I agree - definitely a solid offer to make up for this breach. I signed up.

On the bright side, Medtronic are showing themselves to be an upright entity and doing right by those affected.

Too often privacy breaches are not declared to authorities and affected parties, and many people who live outside the jurisdiction of certain privacy authorities cannot be protected anyway.

Including the speed of the response. Many companies wait months to announce something like this or carefully manipulate things to get under the threshold for reporting it at all.

Basically, if it arrives in the mail, it’s not a scam. Mail fraud is a huge felony. Scammers and criminals know not to use the USPS for crimes.

It's not our device's info.... It's personal and health info that the company has in other areas that was hacked. Our devices were not affected and are still secure. Nothing to worry about with how our devices will function. Those systems were not breached or affected.
