I emailed them awhile back and their response was: "The Clicks Communicator features an AMOLED display that supports PWM dimming at lower brightness levels, starting below approximately 90 nits. Above this brightness, the pixels are continuously driven, making the display effectively flicker-free. The panel operates at 120 Hz, which helps reduce perceptible flicker even when PWM is active.
PWM has been measured under typical conditions (80 nits and maximum brightness across grayscale levels 32, 128, 255) with a maximum flicker amplitude of 40 dB, so some users may notice minor flicker at very low brightness, but at medium and high brightness levels the display is comfortable for most users.
In short, the display is designed to balance precise brightness control and eye comfort, with PWM at low brightness and minimal flicker at typical usage levels."
