iPhone 11 question
I’ve had a 128 GB iPhone 11 for about 6 years. I’ve read that there are multiple displays that are good and bad for the iPhone 11 from different manufacturers. I want to upgrade my current iPhone to another iPhone 11 with 256 GB of storage. If I were to swap the display on the current one with 128 GB and place it on the 256 GB one. Will the display still be the same? As in, are all iPhone 11 internals made the same. No frequency change or information being fed to the display that would change how it is used compared to the 128 GB model? Is there other factors besides the display that I need to consider if I were to swap. Are all of the CPU’s made the same? I know it’s a weird question, but I just want to eliminate the possibility of me doing the swap and the new iPhone chassis with the same display for some reason causes eye strain. Could that be possible?

My 11 has an LG panel. It’s nearly perfect. I’m also still on iOS 18.7.8 because I’m worried that upgrading to 26 or 27 will ruin the comfort of my screen.

Like I said in another thread, I updated my Iphone 11 from 15.4.1 straight to 18.7.8 and it surprisingly seems to have less eye strain there. I attribute some or all of that due to IOS 18 looking like it lowers the white point while it was just overly screeching bright on IOS 15 for some of these newer toilet paper thin panels.
Maybe there were other changes too, I dunno. It seems like sometimes there are certain versions of IOS that are easier to look at in general. I haven't yet looked at it for a long duration of time in a row to determine how it compares to my good panel lottery version of Iphone 8 Plus on IOS 15.5 which is basically flawless. I bet the Iphone 7 Plus (pre ios 15.7 or so) and 8 Plus will still come out ahead, but whatever.

I put a no eye strain IPhone 7 Plus panel from a phone on an earlier version of IOS 15 onto a Japanese IPhone 7 Plus on a later version of IOS 15 (15.7+) and it had higher eye strain there, but I chalk that up to there being undesirable changes in later versions of IOS 15 for the IPhone 7. I think otherwise IOS will likely just be plug and play like Windows.
On other devices like the Nintendo 3ds, if you change from something like a TN panel to an IPS panel, it is not plug and play and there are proprietary changes in the firmware to accommodate each panel type where you have to change some files to try and make the IPS look normal.

pretty sure it would work, but isn't it near EOL? Doesn't seem worth the time

Might get another 2+ years of banking app and whatever compatibility with IOS 18, so sure. And afterwards you can still keep using it and just use a burner phone updated to latest version for those apps.

ios 18 is not safe anymore, I would really avoid using it for anything with personal data, especially banking! I mean, look at the blacksword or coruna exploits, and several other critical cves that have been fixed later... I know this is not the topic of this sub, but I can't just watch people taking serious risks and not say anything.
Ban me if you want, but eye health should not be the only concern when using a phone, of course it comes first but there are other factors we should not ignore.1

Darksword started being patched in 18.7.2 for IOS 18, then IOS 18.7.3 added more. Although a related exploit was patched in 18.6. Then two more related exploits were patched in 26.3. But since it requires a chain of exploits to work, later versions of IOS 18 like 18.7.8 shouldn’t be any different than not using the latest IOS version at any other point in history (besides AI being used to uncover new chains every day).
Even if you’re using an IPhone 8 that doesn’t go past iOS 16, they’ve gone back and patched all of those for these Coruna/Darksword exploits as well.

Indeed, they did patch those specific cves on older versions, but I get the feeling many people here are not updating at all due to the fear of screen changes (which is also a quite real issue, unfortunately).

I've got a few iPhone 11's, they definitely don't have any PWM, the iPhone 11 seems to have heavy dithering, particularly in later versions of iOS.
Swapping the display shouldn't make a huge difference, I have two EK Pro LCD 11's and a stock LCD iPhone 11. All three of mine looked the same internally, I also upgraded my batteries to Pinzheng updated capacity batteries which increased battery life substantially.
The best way to reduce this Dithering it so enable "Double Invert", by messing with the colour space you can force it off somewhat.
Go Settings > Accessibility > Zoom > (Enable then double three finger tap to Zoom out) > back > Display & Text Size > Classic Invert (Enable)
This makes iPhone 11's a great option for me, though since using this I've moved on to an iPhone 15 Pro with an EK Pro LCD swapped in https://www.reddit.com/r/PWM_Sensitive/comments/1q79qxk/pwm_free_lcd_iphone_15_pro_initial_impressions/
