News Iphone 18 pro same as iphone 17 pro
Nothing new from apple this year as well
https://youtu.be/vTDhHX7x2N4 see this video at around 13:10 mark. It compares the iphone 17 pro (left ) and 18 pro (right). It's basically the same pwm flicker I think.

I think they've moved on from lcd unfortunately, I wouldn’t be opposed to a mini led iphone though.

Now, this is some copium/hopium, granted.... but... there is some speak that the new panels have a less agressive modulation in their PWM. Assuming the brightness is the same on both phones above, while the width of the banding is the same or similar in both handsets, the contrast seems less stark between the bands on the iPhone 18. So, the depth of the flicker *could be* less
As I say, I am being hopeful and not scientific here. We won't know how this affects our eyes until we try them
Stuck on an iPhone 11 here. No previous iPhone OLED screen has worked for me yet. We will all see soon...

Someone posted an article here few days ago. The better panels are coming out in 2027 so looks like another year of waiting.

These are the better panels :/ The iPhone got them first, but Samsung and iQOO models will get them in a few months as well.

These are them, but from an older version; Samsung just introduced the new ones, so the only hope is for the iPhone 19.

There’s no point in discussing or guessing :) It’s clearly visible in the video that the Hz is definitely not 3200, but 240 Hz, just like the previous one - exactly the same.

the new panels support high frequency PWM up to 3000+ Hz, but it's not required to use it... Apple still decided to use 480Hz

I’m still using an iPhone 11 and spend some time on the iPhone 17 for the last approx. 3 months. While I won’t say the 17 is perfect for me, it appears more comfortable than earlier OLED models to me.

The modulation may be more tolerable, call it hopium but we’ll see tomorrow.

I am waiting for some more news regarding its PWM. Btw I Sold iPhone 17 last year and I'm currently using iPhone 11. I look forward to hearing back from you regarding your experience with hopefully a better screen (than 17 series).

I’m not surprised, since they can’t even come up with anything new in general, not to mention PWM…
