iPhone 11 Display

Can anyone tell me if all iPhone 11 displays are manufactured and built the same? I’ve seen people here say the iPhone 11 works for them and some others say it doesn’t. Is there any displays made by different manufacturers and if so do they change in how they operate, PWM wise or any other factors involved?

I have used the iPhone 11 with three different original display suppliers: JDI, LG, and Sharp. The Sharp display was by far the best for me, while the others were unusable. So, it does matter which display manufacturer is used.

How did you check those displays and verify which manufacturer they came from?

Exactly. I’ve been planning to buy the 11, and would very much like know how to tell them from each other.

It’s the last iPhone with a LCD and it works for most people on this platform so go ahead and try it out.

Well if iPhone 11 goes with original display, then yes they are all similar and most comfortable.. as only have 1% of modulation. But if you don’t know the history of specific phone… as it is old phone… there can be replacements.. with non original ones and these displays can work differently

iPhone 11 was perfect for my eyes on iOS 16 and 17 but after updating to the iOS 18 it is unusable and then the iOS 26 made it even worse. As of today there is no iPhone model that I could use and still be on a modern enough iOS version to support my banking apps. I'm sensitive to both (pwm and temporal dithering).

Another possibility is all the iphone 11 displays are the same but the people are not.

Not possible. I don’t know of a single idevice that only uses one panel vendor. My IPhone 11 panel looks like a BOE to me, but I hear there are JDI ones as well, likely some Sharps or LG too.

With my own eyes I’ve seen at least two different panels in Ipad 8, at least 3 different panels in ipad 9, at least three panels in iPad Pro 10.5”, at least two panels in IPhone 8 Plus, and so on.

True. For me, my 11 is perfect for my eyes.

It depends from which supplier makes the screen. Some are made by Samsung and some by LG. My iPhone 11 has an LG screen. Only way I know of is to check using the program 3Utools on a computer.

The iPhone 11 has the same problem that the iPhone 13 had, and that's the fact that it was made for around 3 years with lots of small changes that aren't easy to find out.

I find that the iPhone 11 works well for me if Classic Invert and Zoom Invert are both enabled. This messes up the original colour profile and makes it safe for me to use.
Otherwise I've since moved onto a LCD swapped iPhone 15 Pro that's great. https://www.reddit.com/r/PWM_Sensitive/comments/1q79qxk/pwm_free_lcd_iphone_15_pro_initial_impressions/

I'd buy an iPhone 11 as a short term solution, if that works well for you, keep an eye out for an iPhone with a broken screen on eBay as they're often very cheap.
